Smurfit Westrock in Piteå is now looking for an experienced paper machine operator for our operations. Here, we produce over 700,000 tons of kraftliner annually on our two paper machines, PM1 and PM2. One machine produces brown kraftliner, while the other produces supercalendered white kraftliner. Together, the machines are a central part of our production, enabling us to deliver paper with high strength, good printability, and excellent moisture resistance.

We are looking for you who have experience from the paper industry and are accustomed to operating paper machines, allowing you to quickly get up to speed and contribute to daily operations.

Responsibilities

You will be responsible for the operation of one of the paper machines and, in the long term, also be able to cover for the dryer operator.

The responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Performing all tasks related to the paper machine.
• Responsible for the operation of the plant, including monitoring from the stock preparation tower to the finished reel.
• Ensuring optimal operation based on production levels, stock mixers, and chemical additives.
• Evaluating paper quality based on measurement values and visual inspection.
• Conducting scheduled weekly checks and rounds.
• In the event of major deviations affecting production, environment, or quality, inform the on-call operations supervisor and keep a log.
• Contribute to a high safety level by following current safety regulations and ensuring that safety devices are functioning correctly.

Requirements

We are looking for you who are a process operator with several years of experience from a paper mill, where you have worked as a machine operator on a paper machine and built up good process knowledge.

As a person, you are proactive, responsible, and confident in working independently. You collaborate well with others and are flexible between different tasks and areas of responsibility. A crane operator's license for overhead cranes is an advantage.
