Description

In Färgelanda Municipality, approximately 6,500 residents live, concentrated in four urban areas. The municipality is located in southern Dalsland and offers a rich diversity of opportunities, such as beautiful nature with sparkling lakes and untouched wilderness, where you can enjoy an active outdoor lifestyle. Commuting distance (3-5 hours drive) to Trollhättan-Vänersborg-Uddevalla. If you wish to visit the big city, Gothenburg and Oslo are only a couple of hours away by car.

Responsibilities

Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Providing students with study and career guidance in class and in individual meetings.
  • Supporting students in their applications to upper secondary school.
  • Planning and following up on internships for grades 7–9.
  • Participating in the student health team's work.
  • Having follow-up responsibility regarding the municipality's upper secondary students.
  • Collaborating with KAA coordinators (Municipal Labor Market and Education Coordinators).
  • Implementing work-related interventions for students in grades 4 to 6.
  • Contributing to the planning and implementation of projects involving businesses, organizations, and associations.
  • Participating in special initiatives to increase student goal achievement.

Qualifications

You must be a trained study and career counselor. For the role, you need good knowledge of the education system, the labor market, and its competence needs. In addition, we are looking for someone who is a secure and stable adult with good analytical and communication skills. You have good teamwork skills and the ability to see each individual student and their opportunities. You respect the equal value of all people and are curious, open, and evaluative regarding how new technology can be utilized in schools in different ways. You have a solution-focused approach with empathy and a sense of responsibility.

Previous experience as a study and career counselor is meritorious.

A police record extract is required upon employment, in accordance with the Act on Register Checks in Preschool Activities, Schools, and Childcare (SFS 2000:873).
