The Administration of the Municipal Executive Board is one of Mjölby Municipality's six administrations and serves as the secretariat for the Municipal Council, the Municipal Executive Board, and the Election Board. With approximately 130 employees, we drive strategic issues throughout the organization, coordinate municipality-wide work, and support both the political leadership and other administrations. The administration consists of municipal management, finance and control, HR and payroll, secretariat, IT and digitalization, communications, and business and marketing.

The IT and Digitalization Department has overall responsibility for the IT operations of Mjölby and Vadstena municipalities and a strategic responsibility for digitalization. We work in a guiding, supportive, and close-to-business manner to contribute to utilizing the opportunities of digitalization in the best possible way.

Job Description

We are looking for an engaged System and Technical Area Specialist who wants to help develop and manage the IT environments of Mjölby and Vadstena municipalities. In this role, you will work closely with both business units and IT, contributing specialist competence in further development, improvement work, as well as qualified troubleshooting and support.

You have a broad and varied assignment and serve as an important knowledge resource within your technical area. You disseminate relevant information within the organization and maintain ongoing dialogue with object managers, suppliers, and other collaboration partners. Part of the role also involves contributing to and developing the municipalities' IT security work.

The work is characterized by complex issues that require good technical competence and problem-solving skills. You work according to Mjölby Municipality's management model, which creates structure and coordination between the IT and Digitalization Department and the business units. As a specialist, you lead or participate in development projects, work in test and development environments, and keep yourself updated on trends and external changes to strengthen and future-proof IT solutions.

Your main responsibilities:

• Develop, manage, and improve the municipalities' IT environments in close collaboration with business units.
• Contribute specialist competence in system and technical areas, including qualified troubleshooting and support.
• Work proactively on the further development and improvement of existing IT solutions.
• Act as a technical knowledge resource and disseminate relevant information within the organization.
• Collaborate with object managers, suppliers, and other partners.
• Lead or participate in development and change projects, both internally and together with the business units.
• Work in test and development environments to ensure quality and stable operations.
• Follow and contribute to the municipalities' management model and common ways of working.
• Monitor the external environment and stay updated on technological development and trends to future-proof IT solutions.

Qualifications and Merits

We are looking for you who have:

• Relevant university education or other experience that the employer deems equivalent.
• Documented experience working as a systems engineer, system administrator, or similar technical specialist role.
• Good technical competence in the operation, management, and development of IT systems and environments.
• Good understanding of IT and information security, as well as experience in security-related work.
• Experience in qualified troubleshooting, problem-solving, and technical support.
• Experience collaborating with business units, object managers, and external suppliers.
• Ability to work systematically according to established management models and common ways of working.
• Good communication skills and habit of sharing knowledge and technical information.
• Good problem-solving skills and ability to handle complex issues.
• Interest in external monitoring and staying updated on technology and IT development.

We consider it meritorious if you have:

• Knowledge of working in test and development environments.
• Ability to independently drive issues and participate in or lead development and change projects.
• Experience from municipal or other politically governed operations.
• Good communication skills and can express yourself clearly in Swedish, both verbally and in writing.
