We are now looking for a chef for the Meal Unit
We are now looking for a chef for the Meal Unit who can work within the municipality's various kitchens, based at Skogsbyn Preschool. As a chef, you have an important role; together with your colleagues, you are responsible for providing our guests with the best meal experience. We prepare as much as possible from scratch using high-quality ingredients.

RESPONSIBILITIES
As a chef, you have overall responsibility for the kitchen and ensure that everything runs smoothly. You work both on weekdays and weekends. The role involves preparing and cooking meals, planning menus, and preparing for upcoming days. You are responsible for ordering food and ensuring that unpacking is done according to food handling guidelines. Cleaning and dishwashing are performed according to self-control routines.
An important part of your work is adapting the diet to the target group's needs, for example in cases of food allergies or other requests for special diets. You have good knowledge of nutrition and feel confident in the subject, which allows you to create meals that are both safe and nutritious.
You contribute to a good working environment and are involved in ensuring that the operations function and develop. You contribute to effective collaboration between the kitchen and the departments. Food waste and sustainability are things we work with daily; therefore, we look for someone who is solution-focused and works according to improvement opportunities.
Our diners are important; we serve good and nutritious food because we value a good meal experience. We work on preparing as much as possible from scratch using high-quality ingredients.
QUALIFICATIONS
We are looking for you who are a trained chef with basic knowledge of food hygiene and nutrition. At least 3 years of experience in restaurants or large-scale kitchens is meritorious. You have a good economic sense and constantly work to minimize food waste. When the pace is high, you remain calm and flexible. As a person, you are receptive, enjoy working in a team, have good cooperation skills, and have an interest in developing the operations forward.
You should have experience working in kitchens with food preparation and have good knowledge of rules and guidelines regarding food hygiene and self-control. You also have good knowledge of special diets and food allergies. Furthermore, you are computer literate and are careful to follow current agreements, guidelines, and budgets when it comes to purchases.
You are confident in your cooking skills, are driven, creative, and solution-focused. You are passionate about meal joy and are naturally positive about cooking for our diners. Furthermore, you communicate clearly and see relationships in their proper perspective. We also see that you have the interest, willingness, and ability to help others and strive to deliver well-prepared meals.
The job requires good physical fitness in terms of strength, endurance, and mobility. Like us, you see the importance of the meal being the highlight of the day and want to do that little extra. A Category B driver's license is required.
Employment type: Fixed-term employment.
Duration: 6 months or longer.
