About the Workplace

Following a recently adjusted organization, Ale has a consolidated student health service where psychologists, school nurses, and school social teams are led by a Student Health Director. Together with the other student health professions at the schools, we form an interdisciplinary group with primarily a health-promoting and preventive mandate for the municipality's students. The group consists of just over 20 employees and is an important resource in development issues and for coordinating the various assignments. We are looking for you who want to make a difference and support students' development towards educational goals.

We offer three school nurse positions in the northern and southern areas of the municipality, as part of an expanded student health service. One of the positions is shared between a 7-9 grade school and a preschool-3 grade school, while the other two are located at 7-9 grade schools.

A couple of times each month, student health staff meet for joint meetings, both as a full group and by profession. These occasions are appreciated for the opportunity for community and reflection, as well as for working together on development and quality work. We are a group with a broad age and experience spectrum who enjoy each other's company!

Job Responsibilities

As a school nurse, you are a central part of the student health service and work primarily preventively and health-promoting to strengthen students' physical and mental health. You have your workplace in the school's student health team, which is managed by the principal. You conduct health visits according to Ale Municipality's basic program and offer simple medical interventions when needed. You have open reception hours and reception together with the school doctor. You also collaborate with external actors and activities for the benefit of the student. Through your work, you contribute to early identification of factors that may affect students' well-being and learning, and in close cooperation with school staff and the student health team, you support students' development towards educational goals and work for a secure and health-promoting school environment.

Within the medical component of student health, we work systematically with quality development and improvement efforts, and we place great importance on interest in driving development forward within our operations. Documentation is done in the journal program Prorenata.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are a licensed nurse with specialist education as a school nurse, district nurse, or within healthcare for children and youth. You have a genuine commitment to school-related issues and are passionate about working to promote children's health and learning. Experience working as a school nurse is an advantage.

We are looking for you who are development-oriented, engaged, and have strong drive, with the ability to take initiative and turn ideas into action. You want to take an active and significant role in developing the medical component of student health. You have a good sense of responsibility, are meticulous, and flexible. You feel confident working independently and have a good ability to collaborate and coordinate. You communicate easily and meet people well, and thrive in work with children and youth as well as their guardians. Personal suitability is given great importance.

To work within Student Health, you must be able to present a valid extract from the police's criminal record register. The extract must be valid within 1 year.
