The Department of Political Science at Stockholm University is now seeking a Research Assistant for the DEMCOOP project.
About the position
The Research Assistant will work within the DEMCOOP project, which in this part is funded by a grant from the Knut and Alice Wallenberg Foundation. The main task involves coding and analyzing international treaties from 1648 to 2025 using advanced AI language models (LLMs). Specifically, the assistant is expected to refine the project's models and work on separating, categorizing, and analyzing international treaties. The duties also include mapping treaties that have not previously been captured by existing data resources.
Qualifications
You must hold at least a master's degree or be close to completing a master's program in political science or a related field, along with very good proficiency in English. Great emphasis will be placed on proven expertise in the use and refinement of large language models. Significant weight will also be given to competence in international politics as a research area, with a special focus on international cooperation.
Personal suitability will be given great importance.
About the employment
The position is for 50 percent and is fixed-term until December 31, 2026. Stockholm University applies individual salary setting. Start date according to agreement.
