Study Counselor in Pashto at the Integration Unit, Mjölby Municipality

The Education Administration is one of Mjölby Municipality's six administrations and is responsible for preschool, compulsory school, upper secondary school, adapted compulsory and upper secondary school, and adult education. With approximately 1,000 employees, we offer education that promotes all children and students in lifelong learning, working according to the direction "high knowledge results in a school where everyone can and wants to be." We place great emphasis on working close to the operations through regular dialogue and support for school leaders and teachers based on the chain of command.

The Integration Unit handles the reception of newly arrived students, mother tongue instruction, and study counseling in Mjölby Municipality. Here, you will belong to a staff group consisting of approximately 20 educators, most of whom work as both mother tongue teachers and study counselors.

Job Responsibilities

As a study counselor in Pashto, you work as student support. Student support involves promoting the student's knowledge and personal development. You provide support to students regarding their linguistic and cultural awareness, and the differences between Pashto and the Swedish language.

Together with teaching teachers, you are responsible for ensuring that the student absorbs the schoolwork while simultaneously developing their multilingual identity.

Qualifications

As a study counselor in Pashto, a upper secondary education or equivalent is required. You have experience with or are familiar with teaching in Swedish schools. You are proficient in both Pashto and Swedish.

You have the ability to create and maintain good relationships, both internally and externally. You collaborate well with people in different contexts and functions.

You have the ability to plan and organize your work. You are good at setting goals, organizing resources, following up, and concluding activities.
