Mother Tongue Teacher for the Integration Unit in Mjölby Municipality

The Education Administration is one of Mjölby Municipality's six departments and is responsible for preschool, compulsory school, upper secondary school, adapted compulsory and upper secondary school, and adult education. We place great emphasis on working closely with operations through regular dialogue and support for school leaders and teachers based on the chain of command.

At our Integration Unit, you will become part of our important joint work to promote student learning, where every individual is encouraged to acquire and develop knowledge and values. At the Integration Unit, mother tongue teachers and study advisors work together. We hold regular meetings where you will have support from colleagues with extensive experience in our operations. You will be part of a work team where you, together with your colleagues, work towards the development of both yourself and the students.

Responsibilities

As a mother tongue teacher, you will work actively to ensure that students reach as far as possible based on established goals, both academically and socially. Your teaching must be based on the curriculum and the requirements of the School Act. As a mother tongue teacher, you will teach and motivate students, as well as plan and lead instruction based on each student's individual needs. You will also assess, follow up, document, and grade students' knowledge development.

In the role of mother tongue teacher, you will work with a high degree of independence and make decisions within the guidelines and goals that apply. As a mother tongue teacher, you are managed by the Head of the Integration Unit.

Mother tongue instruction may take place at one or several schools. We conduct only in-person instruction; no remote teaching is offered.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who have a relevant subject teacher degree including mother tongue, or alternatively knowledge of the language or equivalent education. You must master Romani and the Swedish language. You have developed linguistic awareness and should be pedagogically knowledgeable. A B driver's license is an advantage.

You have the ability to plan and organize your work. You easily set goals, organize, follow up, and conclude activities. You adapt easily to changing conditions. You encourage and support change in operations.

You have the ability to follow instructions, statutory requirements, and policy, as well as adhere to set schedules.

You will be part of a work team with wonderful colleagues. In this role, you will have the opportunity to develop together with your students and with us at the Integration Unit.
