Do you want to build something from the ground up?
We are now looking for 12 dedicated support assistants for a newly built residence on Blåsvädersgatan. The operations start in mid-September, but we would prefer if you could start in early September.
About the operations
The residence is a group home with six tenants of mixed ages. The residents have mental disabilities, and some may also have physical disabilities. We have shared meals in the operations. Additionally, passive smoking and fur-bearing animals are present, which means you need to be comfortable with this.
About the role
As a support assistant, you work closely with the tenants to create conditions for an independent and meaningful life. The work is based on implementation plans and involves support in daily tasks, communication, motivation, and social interaction. You collaborate with relatives, guardians, and other actors, and are responsible for social documentation and medication management according to delegation. The goal is to strengthen the tenants' participation, self-determination, and maintain the residents' abilities. Challenging behaviors may occur. Care work is also part of the role, and you need to be comfortable with this.
Working hours are scheduled during the day, evening, and weekends. Some work time may take place at other facilities. Scheduling is done in Time Care Planering.
We offer you a unique opportunity to be involved in starting up and shaping the operations from the ground up, where you become an important part of creating structure, working methods, and a safe environment for the tenants. We warmly welcome you to apply!
Qualifications
We are looking for you who have a degree from the Care and Nursing program, the Support Assistant education, or the Child and Leisure program with a focus on social and pedagogical work. The educational requirement is also met if you have a specialization within the disability field comprising at least 200 YH credits, 120 university credits, or 60 university credits with two years of work experience with people with disabilities. The courses should be within behavioral science, pedagogy, psychology, social work, and (psychiatric) care or other education that the employer deems equivalent.
You therefore need to have passed Swedish 1 or Swedish as a Second Language 1. If you do not meet the language requirement, you may need to take a language test through the test provider Educateit. The job requires very good skills in Swedish in speech and writing, as communication, documentation, and secure handling of information are part of the tasks.
It is a requirement to have at least two years of experience working within psychiatry. It is also a requirement to have experience working with physical disabilities. In addition, it is a requirement to have worked with IBIC, Treserva, and social documentation.
Experience of change work, startup of operations, or other development work is meritorious, as well as knowledge within transfer techniques. We would also like to see that you have knowledge and/or experience of methods such as MI (Motivational Interviewing), ESL (An Independent Life), and LAB (Low Affective Response). Experience working with people who have harmful use and self-harm behavior is also seen as meritorious.
We also look for:
- You are calm and secure in pressured and difficult situations.
- You take responsibility for your tasks and the group's tasks.
- You are motivated by learning new things and developing.
- You are attentive in your approach.
- You work well with others by listening, showing interest, and respect.
- You plan, organize, and prioritize work in an efficient manner.
