We are now looking for a music teacher for adapted upper secondary school (special needs education). Here you will become part of an engaged team working to ensure every student has the opportunity to develop based on their own prerequisites. Together we create a safe and inspiring school environment where music serves as a tool for learning, communication, and joy.

YOUR ROLE

As a music teacher, you are responsible for planning, implementing, and following up on music education for students in adapted upper secondary school. You create an accessible and stimulating learning environment where students have the opportunity to express themselves musically, develop their abilities, and experience community with others.

The position is primarily directed towards adapted upper secondary school, but teaching within other programs at Baldergymnasiet may also be included in the assignment.

You adapt the teaching based on students' different needs, prerequisites, and interests. Music becomes a tool for learning, communication, and participation, and you work with both individual interventions and group teaching.

The assignment also includes mentorship, where you follow and support students in their personal and academic development. Together with colleagues, student health services, and other professionals, you contribute to a safe and developmental school day where every student has the opportunity to succeed.

YOUR COMPETENCE AND EXPERIENCE

We are looking for you who have upper secondary teacher education with a relevant subject focus and a teaching license with eligibility to teach music.

You have experience in music teaching for young people with intellectual disabilities and are accustomed to adapting teaching to the different needs of individuals and groups. You also have good ability to communicate in Swedish, both orally and in writing, and can adapt your message based on the student's prerequisites.

Since communication is an important part of the assignment, it is meritorious if you have knowledge of AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication), sign language, or other alternative and complementary communication methods. If you also have a B-driving license, we also see this as meritorious.
