The Habilitation Service is a county-wide specialist operation located in five towns in Dalarna: Falun, Borlänge, Mora, Ludvika, and Avesta. Each unit offers Child and Adolescent Habilitation as well as Adult Habilitation. We work in cross-professional teams with medical, psychological, social, and pedagogical competence. The Habilitation Service has an important and challenging mission to make life more possible for children, adolescents, and adults with congenital or early-acquired disabilities, as well as for their relatives. The interventions aim to contribute to a functional daily life, good quality of life, and participation in society.

Then the Child and Adolescent Habilitation Service is the workplace for you! The position is a two-year fixed-term contract for a counselor on study leave. The placement is at our clinic in Borlänge or Falun, but other locations can be discussed. Interviews may begin during the advertising period.

Your duties as a counselor are to identify and initiate psychosocial investigation and treatment work in close collaboration with the rest of the team. It is usually the counselor who has the first contact with the patient and guardian. You provide counseling support to the patient, siblings, and relatives as needed. An important task for the counselor is to provide information about societal support measures and to help coordinate these.

As a counselor, you also hold shorter courses and groups for the patient's network in subjects related to your profession.

Travel within the county occurs in the work.

Requirements:

• Social Work Degree (Social Worker)
• Experience working with people with disabilities
• Valid Class B driver's license

We are looking for you who have commitment and interest in working with our target group. You thrive working in a team but also have a good ability to work independently. You should not be unfamiliar with working in digital environments as we work extensively with digital solutions both in patient work and in meeting activities.

Through your professional attitude and communicative ability, you create good relationships with both colleagues and patients and relatives, and contribute to a positive work climate. You need to be comfortable convening and leading meetings and groups of various kinds. You are happy to share your knowledge and ask for help when needed. Great importance is attached to personal suitability.

Region Dalarna will introduce a requirement for licensure as a Health Care Counselor from 2029-07-01 for those who are to work as counselors within healthcare. If you are offered the position and lack licensure, you will need supplementary education to achieve eligibility to apply for licensure. This will be planned in consultation with your nearest manager.
