The Upper Secondary School and Labour Market Administration is responsible for labor market initiatives, financial assistance, reception of newly arrived refugees and quota refugees, as well as upper secondary school, adult education, and holiday internships.

About the workplace

The school moved to new premises in the summer of 2024 and is now part of Huddinge Upper Secondary School. This means, among other things, completely new and well-equipped classrooms for teaching electrical subjects.

On the Electrical and Energy Programme, Sjödalsgymnasiet has two classes per grade level with 17 students in each class. The school has well-established industry contacts, and Sjödalsgymnasiet's education on the Electrical and Energy Programme has a good reputation within the industry.

Job Responsibilities

We are looking for you who want to be responsible for driving our Electrical and Energy Programme forward and taking significant responsibility for program development. You should therefore have good leadership skills and experience in developing teaching and working as, for example, a team leader or similar previously. If we assess that you meet the Swedish National Agency for Education's criteria for lead teacher (förstelärare), there may be opportunities to combine this role with the position. The lead teacher assignment is formulated with the school management based on the school's development needs and lasts for three years.

The position is 100% and involves you teaching electrical subjects on the Electrical and Energy Programme. You are also a mentor for a class (16 students). The school is organized into program teams that collaborate closely regarding the students. The program team works to find common strategies and create good conditions for the students' learning and development. Mentoring is an important part of the assignment, and you are expected to act quickly when difficulties arise by contacting parents and the school's student health team. We interview continuously for immediate employment. A six-month probationary period may apply.

Your Profile

You are a trained electrician with documented education. You have 5 years of experience as a building electrician or alarm installer. Experience in teaching and teacher certification are highly meritorious. You are a clear leader who is secure and stable in your professional role. You find it easy to establish good relationships with young people, which we see as a prerequisite for successful teaching. You also value creating good relationships with colleagues, guardians, and electrical industry companies (APL companies). You are structured, solution-focused, and accustomed to using ICT. It is important that you have knowledge of the requirements and guidelines set by the Central Trade Committee for the Electrical Industry (ECY) for obtaining electrical certificates and the path to becoming a qualified electrician, as well as knowledge of the legislation governing electrical installations and electrical safety. You also have knowledge/experience with El-auktorisation AB HL: high voltage low voltage or AB L: low voltage.
