Stockholm – our capital city of millions of dreams, expectations, and ambitions. We work for everyone who lives here today and in the future. We are now looking for you who want to think big, new, and different with us – for the people of Stockholm.
Welcome to us
The Social Services are facing extensive development in the area of financial assistance, where both the new Social Services Act and new reforms place increased demands on quality and legal certainty. With the introduction of activity requirements, among other things, we are in an exciting transition phase. To meet these changes and strengthen our work, we are now expanding the operation with two positions.
We are looking for you who want to help develop the future of social services within financial assistance – where structure, collaboration, and active change work are at the center, and where you get the opportunity to contribute to sustainable solutions for individuals' self-sufficiency. The area of financial assistance is divided into five units, including one reception unit and four investigation units. Here, we work evidence-based and goal-oriented to help our clients achieve self-sufficiency!
What we offer
- With us, you get to shape how we work with financial assistance in practice – from how we follow up on activity requirements to how we support individuals towards self-sufficiency.
- Collegial support, external supervision, and competence development.
As an employee with us, you have a wellness allowance and the opportunity to take advantage of favorable offers from several gym chains and swimming pools. Please read more about our benefits here.
Your role
As a social secretary with us in financial assistance, you have a dual mission: you work to help people resolve their livelihood problems and to assess the right to assistance during the process. The work involves investigating and processing financial assistance as well as social motivation and change work. In Järva, we have a diverse client group at different stages of becoming self-sufficient. It is your task as a social secretary to believe in the client's possibilities to achieve self-sufficiency and, together with the client, create a plan that motivates and moves the client forward in the process towards self-sufficiency.
You have the following support:
- Evidence-based research in the form of the BIP study (Employment Indicator Project).
- Engaged colleagues, group leaders, and unit managers.
- Partners such as the Swedish Public Employment Service, Job Centers, addiction care, the Social Insurance Agency, LSS (Act on Support and Service for Persons with Certain Functional Impairments), healthcare, and psychiatry, among others.
As a social secretary in one of our investigation teams, you are responsible for your own client group. In the majority of cases, you are assisted by an economic case worker. You have good opportunities to set up your monthly schedule in a way that works for you, so that you can:
- Meet your clients regularly.
- Follow up on clients' planning and progress.
- Process applications in a legally secure manner in a timely fashion.
Your competence and experience
We are looking for you who have a degree in Social Work (Social Worker).
It is an advantage if you have experience working within financial assistance.
We place great emphasis on the following personal qualities:
- You treat people with respect and professionalism.
- You are engaged, structured, and goal-oriented.
- You want to work for the client's path to self-sufficiency and make legally secure assessments.
- You plan and organize your work efficiently.
- You have good collaboration skills and are relationship-building.
- You are flexible and adapt to changes.
- You are motivated by finding solutions together with the client.
Stockholm City works with competence-based recruitment aimed at considering each person's competence and thereby combating discrimination.
We recruit without cover letters to strengthen the focus on competence and experience for this role. When you submit your application, you will answer a number of questions. When we assess your application, we base it on your CV and the questions you have answered. After the final application date, we review all applications.
We see diversity as enriching and welcome all applicants.
