About the workplace

Nödinge/Kyrkbyskolan is a school for grades F-6 located behind Ale Square in Nödinge. The school is divided into a lower school building and an intermediate school building on two sides of a large schoolyard. The school has approximately 650 students. In our values-based work, we use the PALS model.

We have a counselor for grades F-3 and are now looking for a new colleague for grades 4-6. At the intermediate level, we also have a student coordinator who supports work to promote attendance, safety, and study environment.

Job Responsibilities

The Student Health Team's main task is to work promotively and preventively to support students' learning, development, safety, and health. The work takes place at the student level, group level, and school level.

The work as a school counselor is carried out in close cooperation with teachers and other school staff and is based on a salutogenic approach, aimed at removing obstacles for students' learning, health, and development.

With your competence, you also contribute to ensuring that students in need of special support from a psychosocial perspective receive adequate help.

Your duties include, among other things:

• Contribute knowledge about risk and protective factors for students' health, social situation, learning, development, etc.
• Contribute with investigative measures as part of the combined student health work and support students' development and goal achievement.
• Take a central role in the school's work against discrimination and bullying.
• Report to social services if there is suspicion that a child is being harmed, and support the principal and other school staff in reporting matters.
• Offer supervision, consultation, and advice to school staff from a school social perspective.
• Offer individual support to students based on the school's mission.
• Collaborate and cooperate with external actors, such as social services, child and adolescent psychiatry (BUP), and habilitation, both regarding individual students and in general preventive work.

Documentation will take place from the autumn term 2025 in ProRenata.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are a social worker, a social pedagogue with an academic degree, or have another higher education or university education that the employer considers suitable for the assignment.

Previous experience as a school counselor is meritorious, as is previous work with children and young people. You are secure and stable in your professional role with a good sense of responsibility, thoroughness, and flexibility. You are structured and clear in your work and work both independently and in collaboration with other professions. You take responsibility for your tasks and prioritize your efforts together with the principal and other student health staff.

You communicate easily and meet people, and you enjoy working with children, young people, and their guardians. You are professional and respectful in your treatment of students and in contact with guardians and colleagues.
