Welcome to the Department of Culture, Sports and Leisure. The department consists of six divisions. Four of the department's divisions are primarily responsible for the cultural committee's self-administered activities: Uppsala Library, Uppsala Leisure, Uppsala Art and Cultural Heritage, and Uppsala School of Culture. Two divisions within the department are secretariats that work on direct assignments from the department's management and handle cases for the cultural committee and the sports and leisure committee, respectively.

The workplace is the Public Art Unit, which is responsible for managing, developing, and making accessible the municipality's art collections and public art. The unit is part of the Division of Art and Cultural Heritage, which also includes the activities Culture in Schools, the Walmstedtska Gården Cultural Quarter, Uppsala Art Museum, Biotopia, the Nature School, and the guest performance stage Reginateatern. The division is part of Uppsala Municipality's Department of Culture, Sports and Leisure.

Your physical workplace is at Uppsala Castle. The position is a fixed-term assignment (deputy) of approximately 9 months, starting in mid-August.

Description of duties

The work involves serving as a project manager for artistic design projects. The role includes, among other things, developing art programs and commission descriptions, selecting artists, holding dialogues with art committees, writing cases for the cultural committee, and drawing up agreements. It also involves leading the work of art consultants within the design projects. Furthermore, it includes participating in the unit's meetings and exhibitions, as well as performing administrative work. The assignment also includes creating art collections for municipal operations.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who have a degree in art history and good knowledge of contemporary art.

We would appreciate it if you had experience in project management and art registration, preferably in RegitArt. Experience in administrative work and working with Unit4Erp, Tendsign, Microsoft 365, Heroma, and DHS (digital case handling system) is considered meritorious.

You have good collaboration skills and work smoothly with others by being responsive, communicative, and solution-focused. You are structured and plan, organize, and prioritize your work in an effective manner, which ensures you meet set deadlines. At the same time, you are quality-conscious, meticulous, and have a strong focus on ensuring your work meets set goals and quality standards.

Uppsala Municipality applies individual and differentiated salary setting according to the current collective agreement.

In your application, you must state your citizenship. Employment can only take place after verification of the work permit, as required by the Aliens Ordinance.

Employment with Uppsala Municipality may involve being placed on the war establishment.
