Welcome to the Harmful Use and Addiction Unit.

We are now looking for an employee for the Harmful Use and Addiction Unit. The unit is responsible for public authority functions, and our target group consists of individuals aged 18 and older. Our shared mission is significant, and we exist to serve the residents of Falun.

As a social secretary at the Harmful Use and Addiction Unit, you will enjoy a fun and stimulating job. You will have pleasant colleagues and a meaningful, rewarding assignment. We work in close cooperation with the social workers at the counseling unit, with whom we also share a manager.

Responsibilities

As a social secretary, you are responsible for public authority functions and for investigating the need for treatment interventions for individuals based on substance abuse/addiction issues. This may involve statements, investigations, assessments, decisions, and follow-up of implemented measures. The National Board of Health and Welfare's national guidelines in the area are guiding regarding investigation methods and approved interventions.

Your role also includes close cooperation with both internal and external partners where we need to coordinate any interventions. Our own counseling unit is an important part of the interventions we approve, and we have close cooperation to ensure the right treatment interventions for our clients.

Qualifications

Requirements for the role:

  • Degree in Social Work (Socialsekreterare/Socionom)
  • Experience in public authority functions within an area relevant to the position
  • Category B driver's license

As a person, you are self-assured, responsible, and have a structured work style characterized by order and precision. You are proactive and have an easy time building good relationships, as well as strong collaboration skills with both internal and external parties. Furthermore, we see you as a creative motivating factor who thrives working independently within given frameworks but is also flexible and able to adapt when the situation requires it. As a person, you are open, curious, and have a good ability to see opportunities and handle that we are a business with constant development issues. You also have an interest in meeting the target group with addiction problems.

Meritorious qualifications

  • Training in Motivational Interviewing (MI)
  • Training in ASI (Addiction Severity Index) and good experience in conducting structured interviews according to the method
  • Experience in dropout prevention activities
  • Experience and knowledge of the authority's responsibilities and current legislation.
  • Experience working in a politically governed organization

Terms of Employment

The position is a permanent employment with the Working Life and Social Administration. The position starts at the Harmful Use and Addiction Unit, but may be moved to another unit within the Working Life and Social Administration if conditions change.
