Alarm Operators at KAC
With two of our alarm operators stepping into new roles with greater responsibilities at KAC, vacancies have arisen for two full-time positions that we are now looking to fill!
The Municipal Alarm Center (KAC) receives and relays incoming safety alarms, fire alarms, technical alarms, burglary alarms, panic alarms, camera alarms, and elevator alarms. Handling duty services and cases via the Rakel radio system is also part of our daily routine. Currently, we handle incoming alarms and duty services from eight municipalities, with hopes of adding more connected municipalities. Our customers include municipal administrations and companies, as well as other authorities, businesses, and private individuals who can choose to connect their fire alarm systems to KAC.
We collaborate with several other municipal alarm centers in the country. Therefore, part of the job duties includes handling alarms from other alarm centers on certain occasions.
In this role, you will work towards the goal of developing the operations together with colleagues, customers, sister centers, and other citizens.
Does this sound interesting and like a job for you or someone you know? We are now looking for two alarm operators for KAC. Apply yourself or refer someone you think would be a perfect fit for this position.
Job Responsibilities
As an alarm operator, you will be stationed at the Municipal Alarm Center, working at an operator desk using technical support systems. Here, you will receive and relay incoming alarms. In addition to alarm reception, KAC handles switchboard telephony, acts as a duty dispatcher for various operations, and dispatches rescue services on certain occasions. KAC also manages the Rakel radio system, which supports the administrations and companies in maintaining safe and secure communication. You must be comfortable with both repetitive and secondary operational tasks.
The position is a permanent employment involving varied work during daytime, nighttime, and weekends. Work is performed in 2- and 3-shift rotations throughout the year according to a fixed schedule. You will undergo an internal training period before starting your work as an alarm operator. This training begins immediately upon employment.
What does KAC offer you?
- Fixed monthly salary.
- Wellness benefits.
- A weekly working time of 34.33 hours.
- Responsible tasks where you can make a difference.
Qualifications
We are looking for you who:
- Have a high school education or other training and experience that the employer deems sufficient.
- Are stress-resistant and possess good social skills.
- Have good experience in general computer system usage and are quick to learn new systems.
- Have strong prioritization skills.
- Can act independently and make decisions based on priority order.
- Can express yourself fluently in spoken and written Swedish and are comfortable communicating in English.
- Have good multitasking abilities as the job requires handling several tasks simultaneously.
- Are capable of working irregular hours, including night shifts.
- Have a clean criminal record and are willing to undergo a security clearance and drug test.
Great emphasis will be placed on your personal qualities.
Please attach your CV and, above all, a cover letter with your application where you tell us about yourself, what attracts you to this job, and what you can contribute to making our alarm center even better.
Apply now. You will be contacted shortly after the application period ends if you are selected for an interview.
If you are invited to an employment interview, we ask that you prepare contact details for relevant reference persons we can contact (name, email address, and mobile phone number).
Before the appointment is made, a check against the police criminal record register will be conducted.
Be inspired by what it is like to live, work, and thrive in Örnsköldsvik.
The Municipal Executive Office works under the Municipal Board and is responsible for leading, coordinating, supporting, and monitoring the overall municipal operations.
During the interview process, we will conduct an identity check and verify citizenship. Accepted documents include a passport, international ID card, driver's license plus a personal certificate from the Tax Agency, or another ID document that strengthens proof of citizenship. For some positions, extracts from the police's suspicion and criminal record registers are required. We particularly value knowledge of Finnish and/or any of the Sami varieties, as Örnsköldsvik Municipality is part of both the Finnish and Sami administrative areas.
In our municipality, several positions are classified for security, so security clearance may be required. These positions may require Swedish citizenship.
