The Assistive Technology Services are responsible for operating assistive technology services for people with mobility impairments in the southern part of Stockholm County, as well as county-wide responsibility for individuals in need of consumable assistive devices at home, medical technical equipment at home, and communication, cognitive, visual, and hearing aids.

Assistive Devices Stockholm supplies the southern part of the county with medical technical assistive devices.

At the Technical Adaptation unit, we primarily work to provide qualified technical assistance with adaptations and special adaptations, contributing to an efficient and reliable assistive device service for those who prescribe assistive devices and the patients who use them.

As a vital piece of our operations, you will become part of the Region's health and medical care.

The operations are located in Älvsjö/Fruängen.

Job Description:

As a technician at Assistive Devices Stockholm, your main tasks include adapting medical technical products, as well as participating as a technical resource during consultations. You will work in a team with other professionals such as occupational therapists and physiotherapists. The team's mission is to adapt medical technical products according to the patient's needs and current regulations, in close collaboration with consultants, prescribers, and patients. Your daily work includes documentation and risk analysis during special adaptations. The role also involves active participation in the procurement of assistive devices.

Qualifications:

We are looking for you who have technical competence and preferably knowledge and interest in physiology and anatomy.

You have at least 2–4 years of upper secondary education.

A burning interest in craftsmanship and technical solutions. Knowledge within the assistive device area, specifically mobility aids.

It is meritorious if you have post-secondary education in physiotherapy or occupational therapy, or knowledge/professional experience in physiology, anatomy, and pathology.

Experience working with materials such as wood, plastic, and metal is a clear advantage but not a requirement.

Meritorious with knowledge of the business system Sesam2.

Swedish language skills at both spoken and written level C1, as well as good English skills, as many of our manuals are in English.

Meritorious if you have experience working in a publicly governed organization.

A Category B driver's license is a requirement.

Since you work in direct contact with both internal/external customers and patients in your daily work, we place great emphasis on your personal qualities.

Employment Type:

Permanent, full-time. A probationary period of 6 months may be applied. Interviews may take place on an ongoing basis.

The position will be filled provided it does not need to be taken for internal reassignment, according to current regulations.

In patient-facing work within the Stockholm County Council (SLSO):

– Register control is applied before the decision on employment according to SLSO's overarching guidelines for register control upon employment.

– Employees who will have patient contact must undergo a new employment examination, according to current directives, which is conducted through occupational health services before employment.

– Requires, in addition to Swedish professional licensure, good knowledge of the Swedish language corresponding to level C1 according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). The same requirement is guiding for non-licensed personnel with patient contact.
