About the Project

Together with our housing company Gavlegårdarna, we have been granted state funding via the County Administrative Board to run a joint project aimed at women with children who have been victims of economic violence and do not have the opportunity to secure permanent housing. The project will run for two years, with a focus on creating the best possible conditions for a safe and violence-free life. We recognize that the children's need for good health, meaningful leisure activities, and a secure school environment are prerequisites for reducing risks of vulnerability in adolescence and adulthood. We base our activities and decisions on the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child.

Job Responsibilities

The Child and Youth Support Worker role is unique in that it focuses on the child's and youth's narrative of the violence, serving as a central thread throughout the project. The role is to support the child and youth in their relationships, school, and leisure environments, while preventing social exclusion and minimizing risks of poor well-being and norm-breaking behavior. Currently, there are no direct, long-term, and individually adapted interventions for children and youth specifically addressing violence in close relationships. Therefore, the working method will be developed during the project period, with the children's participation being a priority. Since this role concerns the children's living conditions, working hours may be scheduled during evenings and weekends to align with the children's needs. The position will be linked to the Violence in Close Relationships unit and will focus on supportive and collaborative social work.

Qualifications

Formal Competencies:

• We look for candidates with a degree in Social Work or another education that the employer deems equivalent and relevant.
• You have several years of experience working with children in psychosocial change and treatment work.
• We want you to have good knowledge of violence in close relationships and its consequences.
• A driver's license is required as travel is part of the job.

Experience with Signs of Safety is considered an advantage.

A certificate of good conduct (extract from the police register) is required for this position. This will only be requested from the final candidate in the last step of the recruitment process.

Employment Type: Fixed-term employment.
Duration: Permanent (within a fixed-term project framework).
