Solution Architect for IT Business Development

At IT Business Development, we currently have 12 employees. Our assignments cover various areas such as security, architecture, AI/data, and business development. We collaborate both internally within the IT Administration and with other parts of Region Gävleborg, as well as externally with municipalities and other partners.

We are now looking for a Solution Architect who wants to be a key figure in translating business needs into sustainable working methods and IT solutions, and who contributes to the digital transformation taking place in Region Gävleborg.

RESPONSIBILITIES

We are facing a growing number of digital development initiatives where IT plays a central enabling role. To ensure that our solutions are sustainable, secure, and align with our overarching architecture, we are establishing the role of Solution Architect.

As a Solution Architect, you are responsible for translating business needs into thoughtful, sustainable, and secure solutions that create business value and support Region Gävleborg's long-term target architecture and digital development. You collaborate with business representatives, development teams, architecture leadership, technical specialists, and suppliers to create solutions that deliver business value and function within our existing IT environment. You are responsible for ensuring that solutions are designed so that information and data can be shared, reused, and made accessible in a secure and efficient manner. You ensure that each solution is designed in line with the organization's architecture principles, target architecture, and security requirements, while weighing in business value, technical prerequisites, and applicable regulations.

As a Solution Architect with us, you will among other things:

• lead the work of creating solution architecture for development initiatives and projects, from early ideas and needs analysis to final implementation
• analyze how new solutions affect and interact with the existing IT landscape, including integrations, information flows, and dependencies between systems
• identify and manage trade-offs and consequences, and contribute to minimizing technical debt and promoting reuse
• be responsible for creating and documenting architectural design decisions, and for communicating these clearly and effectively to relevant stakeholders, such as development teams, project managers, business representatives, and suppliers
• follow up that solutions are implemented according to agreed architecture and requirements
• contribute to architecture governance by identifying deviations, risks, and improvement opportunities, and providing input for architectural choices and decisions.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for you who have a good ability to see the big picture in complex IT environments and can translate overarching goals and principles into concrete and feasible solutions. You also have the ability to balance business needs, technical possibilities, security requirements, and regulations. We place great emphasis on you being structured, analytical, and having a holistic perspective. You are confident in your competence and have the ability to lead and influence without formal authority. You thrive in collaboration with others, are sensitive to business needs, and have a proactive work style.

In the role of Solution Architect, you should have:

• experience working with solution design or solution architecture at the interface between business and IT
• experience with modern platform solutions, cloud services, or hybrid environments
• experience creating solution design in development initiatives or projects
• good knowledge of system integration, information flows, and interaction between different IT systems
• experience documenting architecture and communicating design decisions
• good communication skills and experience collaborating with both business, IT, and suppliers.

For this position, it is meritorious if you have experience working in larger and complex organizations, preferably within the public sector. Furthermore, experience with data sharing, APIs, and integration platforms is seen as an advantage, as is knowledge of information security and relevant regulations such as NIS2 and cybersecurity requirements.
