Do you want a varied and rewarding job where you contribute to a secure daily life for children and young people? We are now looking for an engaged therapist to our team at Triton.

Triton is one of Gothenburg City's HVB (Home for Care and Residence) homes. We are located in Utby and have space for six children/young people aged 9–13. The residents primarily come from Northeast Gothenburg and are placed mainly under the Social Services Act (SoL). The proximity principle allows them to continue at their current school and stay close to family and their network.

We have organized the operations to be as home-like as possible, which includes all practical tasks typically found in a home. As a therapist, you provide support and care in daily life, and you have conversations with the children as well as with their families, schools, and other networks. Documentation and meetings with social services and other actors involved with the children are also part of your duties.

Our work focuses on placements lasting from a few months up to a year. We have a systemic theoretical perspective and approach, and we work systematically with need areas according to BBIC (Barns Behov i Centrum). We have a salutogenic approach and offer a stable environment as well as a structured daily life. With this in mind, our ambition is to meet needs and adapt methods based on the individual, family, and assignment.

Working hours are scheduled with shifts during the day, evening, night, and weekends. The position includes some standby duty. We mostly work in teams of two or three people. Solo work occurs between 23:00–08:00. Sleeping on-call is between 00:00–06:00, during which time you also have a colleague available on standby.

About you

We are looking for you who are educated as a social worker or have another behavioral science degree. Alternatively, you have another education and experience that the employer deems suitable for the assignment. A Category B driver's license is required, and you need to have driving experience.

We prefer that you have experience working in HVB homes. Experience working in various treatment activities directed towards the target group is meritorious. It is positive if you have a systemic theoretical perspective and experience working according to BBIC. Experience with standby duty and solo work with the target group, as well as experience collaborating with social services and schools, is meritorious.

Many things happen simultaneously here, and you need to be able to keep your cool, prioritize, cooperate, and communicate, as well as enjoy being with children and young people in daily life. You need to be a stable and secure adult who can meet the children and their parents with warmth, care, and professionalism. Sometimes conflicts arise between the children, and it is important that you help them with conflict management and give them the opportunity to learn new strategies. Therefore, you need to be pedagogical and creative to meet each child on their terms.

You see the big picture and work together with your colleagues to provide the best possible support for the children. By being interested and creating understanding for the people you meet, you contribute to a respectful work climate. Solo work occurs occasionally, and you need to be confident in working and solving problems independently.
