Uppsala Arenas and Properties/Fyrishov has since the autumn of 2018 implemented an extra initiative to provide swimming instruction to all children in preschool class. The assignment has since the autumn of 2023 been expanded to include students in grade 2 in Uppsala municipality. For this exciting and challenging work, we are now looking for someone interested in working as a swimming teacher/swimming teacher assistant.

As a swimming teacher, you will work in a team with 10–12 employees whose main task is to conduct swimming instruction for preschool classes and grade 2 according to the assignment from Uppsala municipality. The swimming instruction takes place both at Fyrishov and Gottsundabadet.

YOUR MAIN TASKS:

Plan and conduct swimming instruction/water safety for children in preschool and grade 2 according to the established curriculum.

Follow-up and evaluation of the instruction.

Other tasks as a lifeguard at the swimming facility.

There is also an opportunity to work with afternoon/evening swimming school at Gottsundabadet.

QUALIFICATIONS:

You who are applying have a high school diploma and are at least 18 years old.

You have a strong commitment, are responsible, and focus on the needs of the children. You enjoy working with children and have the ability to ensure a safe learning environment and see the children develop.

It is desirable if you have experience in any area of preschool, school, swimming, or swimming school. Educational experience or training, swimming teacher training, or other equivalent education/experience that is deemed relevant for the position is an advantage.

ABOUT THE POSITION:

Permanent employment at 50%. Working hours are mainly scheduled during daytime Monday - Friday (08:30-13:00) but shift work may occur.

Swimming proficiency is a requirement for all employees at Fyrishov and Gottsundabadet. To be considered for the position, you need to pass a swimming test and a lifeguard test. If you proceed in the process, we will provide you with the best possible conditions to pass the tests.
