Do you want meaningful work that makes a difference in people's lives? Welcome to the municipality that is far from average!
The Culture and Leisure Administration is responsible for the municipality's cultural and leisure activities and works to create accessible, safe, and meaningful environments for the residents of Botkyrka. The administration's mission includes libraries, cultural schools, art activities, sports, and open leisure activities. We contribute to vibrant and safe living environments and enable Botkyrka residents to develop their interests. With meaningful leisure time, people feel better, which strengthens public health.
With a citizen-focused approach, Botkyrka aims to be a leading municipality in the field of sports.
The mission for Swimming, Sports, and Exercise is to create opportunities for Botkyrka residents to engage and enrich their lives through sports associations, spontaneous sports, outdoor activities, and exercise. The operational area consists of the units Swimming and Racket Hall, Sports Operations, and Sports and Associations.
The Sports Operations unit currently consists of about 20 employees. The unit is responsible for visitor services at sports and outdoor facilities, as well as staffing, maintenance, operations, cleaning, opening and closing, and preparing activity areas for events. The unit's primary mission is to provide safe and welcoming sports environments that give Botkyrka residents good opportunities for physical activity and community.
The Position and Responsibilities
We are looking for two sports facility workers for Botkyrka Municipality's sports facilities.
As a sports facility worker, you will be responsible for the daily operations of facilities in northern Botkyrka, Tumba, and Tullinge. The municipality's sports facilities include ice rinks, football fields, cricket pitches, outdoor swimming pools, sports halls, outdoor gyms, and recreational areas. You ensure that the environments are safe, well-maintained, and ready for associations and residents.
You will conduct ongoing inspections of premises and activity areas. This means checking conditions, addressing minor issues, and handling reports when something needs to be addressed by another party. You will have daily contact with associations and contribute to ensuring that operations can be carried out safely and according to plan.
Your main responsibilities:
- Conduct daily inspections of ice rinks, sports halls, and other facilities
- Perform ice maintenance and flooding and ensure good quality of ice surfaces
- Maintain grass areas and green spaces and handle motorized equipment according to the season
- Address minor issues and deficiencies and make reports as needed
- Provide service and practical support to associations and visitors.
You will document deficiencies and contribute to updating maintenance plans by suggesting prioritized actions. The role also includes following developments in facility maintenance and contributing improvement suggestions that enhance quality, efficiency, and safety.
Working hours vary and include evenings and weekends.
We Offer You
You will be part of the Sports Operations unit responsible for the municipality's sports facilities. In the unit, sports facility workers work alongside three team leaders, one at each facility. The team leaders lead and distribute work but also participate in operations, creating closeness between planning and execution. We work in a structured manner and support each other in our work.
As a sports facility worker, you will receive an introduction where you will work with a team leader for about two weeks before entering the regular schedule. Work is often performed in pairs, allowing for learning and exchange of experiences. With us, you will have the opportunity to develop in your professional role in an operation that creates value for many people every day. Together, we contribute to safe and well-functioning meeting places for the municipality's associations and residents.
You Who Apply to Us
You have experience in practical work, such as property maintenance, facility maintenance, or sports facilities. You have worked with maintenance, supervision, or operations and thrive in a role where you take responsibility for ensuring environments are safe and functional.
Other requirements for the position:

- Experience using motorized equipment in work.

In your interactions with associations and visitors, you are attentive and clear, and you build trust through a professional and friendly approach.
You are solution-oriented and work responsibly within your assignment.
