Researcher in Translational Bioinformatics

The position will be placed in the research group for Translational Bioinformatics, which has extensive experience in developing methods and tools for large-scale data analysis within the life sciences. The research work will primarily involve new approaches in in vitro disease modeling and drug development, combining practical experimental work with advanced bioinformatics and AI-based analytical techniques. This is a collaborative project between academia and industry within the recently granted research profile AI-driven Precision Medicine, funded by the Foundation for Knowledge and Competence Development.

Your Role

The main tasks are to conduct research. Additional tasks may be included in the position.

Qualifications

We are looking for candidates who have:

  • Education: A master's degree, or at least 240 higher education credits
  • Relevant courses are advanced level courses in bioinformatics, biotechnology, biochemistry, systems biology, or a related field.
  • English: Passed in English B or equivalent.

Assessment Criteria:

  • Documented ability to work effectively both in teams and independently.
  • Documented ability to plan, organize, and achieve set goals.
  • Practical experience in experimental work such as qPCR, Western blot, fluorescence microscopy, and immunocytochemistry.
  • Experience in statistics, bioinformatics, and visualization with R, Python, and Linux.
  • Experience in AI-based data analysis, including machine learning/deep learning and image analysis including Keras and TensorFlow.
  • Knowledge of multi-omics data analysis, including single-cell RNA sequencing.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in spoken and written English.

In this employment, great importance will be attached to documented experience in statistics, bioinformatics, and visualization techniques with R, Python, and Linux, documented experience in AI-based data analysis methods including machine learning/deep learning and image analysis, including Keras and TensorFlow, as well as good knowledge of multi-omics data analysis including scRNA-seq.

Employment Conditions

This is a fixed-term employment for 6 months. The extent is 100%, mainly consisting of research work.
