Research Assistant

Do you want to work on a research project that investigates how healthcare can better detect and support the mental health of expectant and new parents from migrant backgrounds? We are looking for individuals with experience as cultural doulas to collaborate with researchers, healthcare personnel, and participants.

Job Responsibilities

As a research assistant, you will have varied and developing tasks. You will work closely with research staff and participants in the project. We are looking for 3 individuals for this project.

Your tasks will include, among others:

• Recruiting and managing contacts with research participants
• Meeting with research participants
• Planning and participating in workshops with research staff and participants
• Contributing to the development of materials for midwives and others who meet pregnant individuals from migrant backgrounds or social exclusion
• Reading and commenting on collected materials regarding the project's research questions
• Inputting research data from other already conducted research studies

Qualifications

• Experience as a cultural doula
• Experience working with pregnant individuals and birthing persons from migrant backgrounds
• Ability to speak and read Swedish

Desirable/Additional Qualifications

It is desirable that you have good oral and written skills in English. It is an advantage if you can speak any of the following languages: Tigrinya, Arabic, or Somali.

We are looking for someone who can work independently and has good collaborative skills. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.

About the Position

The position is temporary, 12 months. The scope is 20%. Start date in January by agreement. Location: Uppsala
