Sjöängsskolan is beautifully located by Örby Castle in Älvsjö.

We are a municipal F-9 school with students from our local area with residential buildings as well as students from further away. Our school is a meeting place for students with different backgrounds, something we value and are proud of.

Job Responsibilities

We are looking for a substitute teacher for the spring term of 2026 for our middle school as the regular teacher has another assignment. Working hours are Monday mornings and Thursdays. You will be responsible for teaching German in grade 6 independently, which also includes grading. You will substitute for one German lesson a week for grade 7. Additionally, you will plan and conduct reading activities for two classes in grade 9 in Swedish for two lessons on Thursdays. Afterwork such as grading is included. The regular teacher will conduct the remaining Swedish lessons with the students and will be responsible for assessment and grading.

You are responsible for professionally planning, conducting, and evaluating teaching in grades 7-9 based on current governing documents. Through your solid subject knowledge, you create creative lessons with a differentiated and dynamic lesson design that engages the students' interest.

Qualifications

We are primarily looking for someone qualified to teach German. You have experience teaching classes. You are a good leader in the classroom and create a safe learning environment for all students while building good relationships with them. You have a good understanding of people's different abilities to absorb knowledge and adjust your teaching and communication accordingly, to both guide and challenge. You are accustomed to using digital teaching aids in your teaching and are proficient in the Office suite.

You reflect on the practical work both by analyzing in the moment and making didactic decisions accordingly, and systematically over the school year.

You have a good command of the Swedish language in both speech and writing. We place great emphasis on personal suitability and good references. Interviews will begin during the recruitment period.
