Specialist Nurse at Ekåsen Elderly Care

Your new job

As a specialist nurse, you will be an important part of the workgroup in our unit for people with cognitive diseases. You will work closely with citizens and support colleagues in developing a health-promoting and person-centered approach. Your expertise will make you a methodological supporter and role model in the team.

Examples of job tasks:

  • Be one of our two BPSD administrators and support and guide colleagues in the preventive BPSD work
  • Support and inspire colleagues in the role of contact person in cases with severe BPSD symptoms
  • Prepare and lead reflection sessions together with the unit manager, aiming to develop person-centered methods and approaches in the workgroup and other units
  • Participate in network meetings and training days to learn about research and new findings and share knowledge with colleagues
  • Guide and introduce new colleagues within your area of expertise
  • Be a mentor for YH students during their LIA period, helping them connect theory and practice

Your qualifications

  • You are a trained specialist nurse and have a post-secondary education of at least 200 YH credits with a focus on dementia care/cognitive diseases or another similar focus that the employer deems relevant.
  • You have experience working with individuals with cognitive diseases and are accustomed to using evidence-based methods and approaches. You know which measures can improve care and support and have a strong ethical approach in your work.
  • It is an advantage if you have a mentoring education and/or experience in guiding and teaching others.
  • You need to be comfortable using digital work tools. We view positively if you have experience working in the operational system Combine.
  • You have very good skills in speaking, writing, and reading comprehension.
  • You have good physical mobility as the job can be physically demanding.

Ekåsen Elderly Care consists of 43 apartments and is located on Ekeforsvägen in a nature-friendly environment. We are a wonderful team that works together to create a pleasant atmosphere, provide good care, and always meet our residents with respect for their integrity.

Good to know

The recruitment concerns a permanent position with a start date according to agreement. Full-time is the norm in Jönköping Municipality, and we always offer 100% employment.

The working hours are scheduled during the day, evenings, and every other weekend, following the municipal agreement of 37 hours per week as weekly working time. We work with joint planning.
