The operation of Child and Parental Health Psychology Clinics in Skåne is part of Close Care and Health, and together with midwifery clinics and child health centers, we form a first-line primary care for mental health and to prevent mental ill health among pregnant women and children aged zero to six years and their parents.

The clinic in Lund has a close collaboration with the clinics in Kristianstad and Hässleholm as well as with other clinics in Skåne, Malmö, Ystad, Trelleborg, Helsingborg, Landskrona, and Ängelholm. The operation includes about 50 psychologists and medical secretaries.

As part of the psychologists' assignment, they also offer training and consultation to midwifery clinics and child health centers.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

In preparation for 2026, we have received a new task to support Child Health Care in the BarnSäkert process, which will be implemented at all child health centers (BVC) in Skåne. For this initiative, we need to expand our basic staffing. Therefore, we have the opportunity to welcome a psychologist to our team at the Child and Parental Health Psychology Clinic in Lund.

In the role of psychologist within Child and Parental Health, individual and family-oriented interventions are included, covering both primary preventive and indicated and treated interventions. The job responsibilities consist of independent qualified treatment, assessment, and investigation work of children aged zero to six years, parents, and expectant parents.

The psychologists' assignment is characterized by high availability and high psychological competence regarding parenting and the development of small children in interaction with their environment. The psychologists' efforts strive in various ways to strengthen the interaction between the child and the parent, as well as to promote health and prevent, detect, and treat mental ill health that affects parenting. Consultation to parents experiencing problems in parenting is included in the psychologist's assignment, as well as developmental assessments in cases of significant concerns about delayed general development.

We primarily work through conversations at the clinic, but visits to various operations for consultations or group parent education may also be included. We also work remotely with telephone advice and video calls. The clinical work is based on a salutogenic approach.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for a licensed psychologist with permission to practice within Swedish healthcare. Language skills in Swedish corresponding to at least level C1 according to the Council of Europe’s scale are a requirement. Knowledge and/or experience of maternal, child, and family psychological work as well as psychotherapeutic treatment methods focused on children, parents, and families are considered advantageous. Likewise, experience in consultation, supervision, psychological treatment with a relational focus, and/or other experience working with children and parents is valued.

As a psychologist within Child and Parental Health, both the ability to work independently and good collaboration skills are required, as the work involves independent assessment and treatment work, team-based assessments in collaboration with other relevant healthcare professionals, as well as supervision and consultation. For the position, it is important that you can meet parents and children in a responsive and respectful manner.
