Together, we conduct and develop psychiatric care for children and adolescents in eastern Östergötland.

The Child and Adolescent Psychiatric Clinic in Norrköping is part of the Psychiatric Center in Region Östergötland. The clinic's operations are primarily conducted at a cohesive outpatient clinic focused on interventions for children and adolescents with moderate to severe psychiatric symptoms and neuropsychiatric functional variations.

The clinic currently consists of five treatment and assessment teams as well as an intermediate care team. One of these teams specializes in eating disorders. The clinic also includes a child house, an infant unit, a child protection team, and a child trauma team. The clinic has about 90 employees, of which approximately half are social workers or psychologists.

Job Description

You will be the responsible physician in one of our treatment and assessment teams. Your tasks will include patient work involving psychiatric assessment and diagnosis, medication treatment, writing certificates, and other commonly occurring tasks. You will work as a backup during daytime at the clinic and have on-call duties. You will collaborate with other professionals in the team and at the clinic for the patient's best interest, both through treatment conferences and in joint visits. You will conduct rounds with our nurses and supervise doctors in training.

You will also be part of the regional on-call line within child and adolescent psychiatry with assignments during weekends and evenings/nights related to the inpatient department in Linköping.

Working hours are primarily scheduled during the day, but on-call duties as mentioned above are included in the position.

Work Group

You will be part of our medical group, which currently consists of seven specialist doctors and seven resident doctors. At the clinic, you will also collaborate with other professionals such as psychologists, social workers, nurses, and occupational therapists.

About You

We are looking for a specialist doctor in child and adolescent psychiatry. Previous experience in the specialty is an advantage. Experience in relevant or related fields is also advantageous.

As you will be in constant dialogue with patients, relatives, colleagues, and other organizations, it is a requirement that you have very good knowledge of the Swedish language in both spoken and written form.

You also need to have a good ability to work independently and have excellent collaboration skills. We work closely together and need good communication to successfully solve the tasks we encounter in our daily work. Therefore, the position suits you who enjoy collaboration and are attentive and communicative with both children, adolescents, relatives, and colleagues. Furthermore, you are patient-focused, have a strong commitment, and a high sense of responsibility for your patients. For this position, we are looking for someone who is flexible, as you may need to adapt to the current situation and change focus, which is crucial as unpredictable events occur daily.

Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability. A driving license (B) is required.
