Welcome to the Culture, Sports and Leisure Administration. The administration consists of six departments. Four of the departments are primarily responsible for the Cultural Committee's own operations: Uppsala Library, Uppsala Leisure, Uppsala Art and Cultural Heritage, and Uppsala Culture School. Two departments within the administration are secretariats that work directly on behalf of the administration's management and handle matters for the Cultural Committee and the Sports and Leisure Committee.

Storvreta Youth Center has many children enrolled and is a well-visited youth center in the evenings. Our team works closely together in planning, implementation, and evaluation. This may involve planning activities or preparing for meetings with our partners such as youth services and schools.

The work involves afternoon and evening hours as well as some weekend shifts.

Job Description

As a recreation leader, you will plan, lead, evaluate, and develop the youth club activities (ages 10–12) and teenage activities (ages 13–18) together with your colleagues. You will work to create meaningful leisure time for children and young people and to create a developing, stimulating, and safe environment. You are expected to actively work with good reception and equal value for all so that everyone feels good when they are in the activities.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone with a recreation leader education or another pedagogical education that the employer deems relevant for the position. You should have experience working with children and youth and good oral and written skills in Swedish. Knowledge of other languages besides Swedish and English is an advantage for the position.

As a person, you are secure, flexible, and have good collaboration skills.

You have self-awareness and the ability to distinguish between the personal and professional, which allows you to build good relationships and see things from the right perspective. You adapt easily to changes and have an open attitude when circumstances shift.
