Stockholm – our capital city with millions of dreams, expectations, and ambitions. We work for everyone living here today and in the future. Now we are looking for you who want to think big, new, and differently with us – for the people of Stockholm.

The Elderly Administration is responsible for city-wide issues regarding elderly care, as well as for coordinating, developing, and following up on elderly care in the city in dialogue with the district committees.

Welcome to us

Stockholm's Security Service is a city-wide operation available 24/7 and one of four departments within the Elderly Administration.

The department consists of the units: Case Management Unit, Emergency Unit, Installation and Service, Alarm Reception, and Development and Support. Approximately 120 people work within the department.

In the Case Management Unit, there are 16 caseworkers and one coordinator. The unit allocates places for short-term care and manages queues, as well as allocates places for care homes and service houses, and processes requests for security alarms within elderly care in Stockholm.

Your role

As a caseworker, you work under delegation from all district administrations in the city. The work involves contact with the elderly, relatives, all district administrations, all providers of home care, care homes, service houses, and other authorities, such as Region Stockholm.

Queue Management: Responsible for ensuring that available apartments in care homes and service houses are allocated to those at the front of the queue, and to allocate available apartments to those needing urgent placement in care homes. Allocation of places to short-term accommodations.

Processing Security Alarms: Process requests for security alarms citywide for individuals aged 65 and older, administer provider changes, and fees for security alarms.

We are now looking for 1-2 colleagues to cover for our caseworkers during a possible leave of absence.

Your qualifications and experience

We are looking for someone with a degree in social work, a social work student, or education that the employer considers equivalent, where knowledge of the Social Services Act is part of the education. The role involves a lot of written documentation and oral communication, so you must be able to express yourself well in both speech and writing in Swedish. You are an experienced computer user and have experience working in various administrative systems.

As you will have many different cases ongoing simultaneously, it is essential that you can plan, organize, and prioritize your work effectively to meet deadlines. Furthermore, it is important that you can create and maintain good contacts both externally and internally; collaboration is a requirement for the work to function. To succeed in your role as a caseworker, you need to be able to make independent decisions, work in a team, and maintain excellent service even during peak times. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability. Experience working with elderly care and the Umbrella in Stockholm is an advantage.

The position is subject to the necessary decisions being made. The City of Stockholm works with competency-based recruitment aimed at recognizing each person's competence and thus counteracting discrimination.
