Your Role

You will be part of our newly established team responsible for computational methods and verification primarily of composite materials and composite structures. Our mission is to be the bridge between the physical world and the digital realm. Through your role, you will be a strong voice in the continued development of Saab's world-leading radar products.

The method team is part of our section "Advanced Composite Engineering" which supports all product areas within the airborne, maritime, and land-based domains developed at Saab Surveillance. The section works broadly with composites - everything from manufacturing, repair, material qualification to computational methodology. Right now, a lot is happening in the composite area with several exciting initiatives where verification methodologies will be central.

Your main responsibilities include:

• Working with methods to translate material testing data into design data
• Supporting product development in all phases, mainly within the verification of composite structures
• Working with testing campaigns
• Working with computational methodology, primarily on the composite side.
• Contributing to and driving technology development within the company

Your Role

This work is performed independently, but in a cohesive group. Therefore, you should be a person who thrives in a team that collectively manages and distributes work within the group and also has a personal drive and desire to succeed and complete your tasks. We believe you identify with qualities such as good communication skills, flexibility, and willingness to collaborate.

We are looking for you who are a recent graduate engineer, or have a few years in the workforce, who is interested in delving into details regarding composite modeling and building advanced FEM models. This is a unique opportunity for someone early in their career to receive guidance and be part of such a competent team. We also strongly encourage you with more experience to apply, as we see that you can contribute valuable knowledge and previous experiences in computational methodology of a more fundamental nature such as material modeling and modeling of, for example, adhesive and screw joints.

We are looking for 2 new colleagues with this advertisement. We are growing and now seek you who, regardless of long or shorter previous experience, want to be part of the journey to build a team and a new framework of computational and verification methods. The location is Lackarebäck, Mölndal.

Your Profile

• Good knowledge of composites in general. Experience from the aerospace industry is a plus.
• Good knowledge of FEM and method development.
• We believe you have a university degree in fiber composites and FEM.
• Excellent communication skills in Swedish and English, both spoken and written
• Practical experience in composite manufacturing and material testing as well as product development within the industry is a plus.

The position requires you to undergo and be approved according to the applicable regulations for security protection. For positions where Saab has requirements for security classification, this may entail requirements for certain citizenship.
