About the assignment

The assignment concerns staffing of a captain for the passenger boat Plaskus, which operates the route between Nora city and Alntorp's island during the summer season. The service includes daily passenger transport from June 1 to August 31, as well as traffic during two weekends in September in connection with Ljusstråk and the Apple Festival. The assignment also includes participation in necessary tests before the season starts, such as fire safety tests, listing tests, and driving tests, in consultation with the client.

About the role

As a captain, you are responsible for the daily operation of the passenger boat with a focus on safety, accessibility, and service. The role involves independent responsibility for operating the boat, passenger safety, and compliance with applicable rules and procedures, in close cooperation with Nora municipality.

Your responsibilities include, among others:

• Operate the passenger boat according to established times and routines
• Ensure passenger safety on board
• Ensure compliance with applicable maritime legislation and safety regulations
• Perform daily checks of the boat and safety equipment
• Participate in safety and functionality tests before the season
• Interact with travelers in a professional and service-oriented manner
• Report deviations, incidents, or technical deficiencies
• Collaborate and communicate continuously with the client

Mandatory requirements

All requirements must be clearly stated in the CV, including periods, assignments, scope, and responsibilities.

1. Ship officer exam class VIII.
2. Current medical certificate.
3. Training in passenger safety.
4. Driving license through practical driving test.
5. Experience in similar work.
6. Ability to express yourself in Swedish, both spoken and written.

Assignment information

The contract period covers June 1 - August 31, starting in the 2026 season. Two additional weekends in September are included in the assignment, with dates to be announced later. A week before the season starts, tests must be conducted, where the captain(s) need to participate.

Option: The contract runs annually for a maximum of four years until 2029 unless terminated by the client with six (6) months' notice.

The service involves work on both weekdays and weekends. The degree of employment may vary between approximately 50–100% depending on the season, needs, and agreement. The work is scheduled during daytime hours in the summer season.

Stationing location: Nora (Örebro County). In connection with the assignment, Nora municipality provides a small, furnished apartment located in central Nora. The apartment is intended for rest or overnight stays before, during, or after shifts.
