About the Role and Your Responsibilities

We are now looking for more colleagues for the foster care unit in Lund!

The unit consists of a unit manager, a senior social worker, and an administrator.

In the foster care group, 11 foster care social workers work, one of whom has a special focus on recruiting new foster homes. We are now looking for colleagues for both roles.

As a foster care social worker in Lund Municipality, you work with the whole situation surrounding the placed child. In some cases, you are the designated social worker for the child, while in other cases you are the social worker for the foster home. You work in pairs on the case and collaborate with the entire network around the child from a systemic perspective. This creates close cooperation within the unit and a constant dialogue about how we can create the best conditions for our children and foster homes.

We are looking for you

We are looking for someone with a degree in social work and experience in foster care. Experience from other roles within social services or other authorities that have contributed to your insight and knowledge about the investigation of children and youth is also meritorious.

You are passionate about making the child's voice heard and working together with colleagues, foster homes, and partners for the child's best interests. You are familiar with authority work and have found a way to balance the authority role with a flexible and empathetic approach. You also have experience meeting foster homes and the challenges and complex situations they encounter in their assignments.

We place great importance on you being a person who can combine commitment with a calm demeanor as well as the ability to prioritize and structure your work. You also value good cooperation with colleagues in your own unit and in nearby units and partners.

About the Workplace

The foster care unit is part of the Labor Market and Social Administration with close collaboration with several other units within children and family as well as young adults.

You will receive a thorough introduction to the work, good opportunities for professional development, and continuous support from your colleagues and manager. We have many colleagues with extensive experience and many years in the profession, so there is solid knowledge to draw from. You will also be part of a group with strong drive and commitment to develop foster care.

We work in the municipal building Kristallen, in close proximity to Lund Central Station. Kristallen is a modern open office landscape, where we have the opportunity to choose the workplace that best suits our tasks.
