The Department of Culture and Media Studies is announcing two positions as teaching assistants in literary studies.
Job Responsibilities
As a teaching assistant, you will mentor students in the Program for Literary Studies and Creative Writing. You will act as a teaching assistant during seminars, supervision sessions, and creative moments in the Program for Literary Studies and Creative Writing. You will conduct social program activities during the semester and lead workshops in creative writing for program students.
Eligibility
Eligible for employment as a teaching assistant is someone who, according to Chapter 5, Section 10 of the Higher Education Act, is admitted to education at the undergraduate or advanced level. You who apply for the position must be able to present an admission notice to such education by the time the employment decision is made. The holder of the position should be a student throughout the entire employment period. By the start date, you must have passed at least two years in the Program for Literary Studies and Creative Writing at Umeå University or equivalent education.
Competence Requirements
We are looking for someone who has a good ability to communicate and express themselves verbally and in writing in both Swedish and English. You are service-oriented, responsible, and independent in your work. You have good collaboration and planning skills.
Great emphasis will be placed on previous academic results and prior experience from the labor market. Importance will also be placed on personal suitability.
Additional Information
The position comprises 20% of full-time, approximately 8 hours per week, with a start date of 2026-02-01 or by agreement, until 2026-06-07. The position is located in Umeå, and the workplace is provided by the department.
