Drinking Water Responsible VA Engineer

We are now looking for a new employee for the Water and Waste Management Unit. You will be one of the 6 colleagues in the water management team.

We belong to the Technical Administration, which is one of our six administrations in Lidingö Municipality. About 40 people work with us, managing and developing municipal roads, parks, natural areas, waste, traffic, as well as water and sewage. We are also responsible for developing traffic and urban environments to create a safe, healthy, and attractive public environment in our beautiful archipelago municipality. In addition, we ensure that essential community functions operate, such as waste management and the operation of water and sewage systems. The administration also includes a project unit whose task is to conduct all feasibility studies and implementation projects within the city.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As the Drinking Water Responsible VA Engineer, you will be responsible for the entire drinking water control of Lidingö Municipality, both in terms of quality and measurement points, as well as for the reporting and record-keeping that the assignment entails. Within the responsibility for drinking water quality, you will monitor and analyze drinking water samples according to current legislation, and you should be able to act and guide the operations to appropriate and necessary measures if needed based on any deviations in sample results.

The quality work includes, among other things, updating self-monitoring plans and risk management in the form of HACCP, as well as the sampling plan and the sampling locations that have been decided. The responsibility for drinking water also includes knowing the city's drinking water network and understanding what happens from incoming water to the city and all the way to the customer via the city's pipeline network, pressure boosting, and water towers.

The role also includes the overall control of the drinking water's path through our flow meters and finally the customer's water meter. Monitoring of these meters should occur daily and also in the associated leakage monitoring systems. Deviations and abnormal flows or consumption by customers may lead to cause investigations that you lead. In addition to this description, other tasks may also arise within the technical administration that concern the operations.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who has:

• Engineering education in environmental and water technology or equivalent competence approved by the employer
• experience working with drinking water, distribution, and quality assurance
• knowledge of monitoring and analyzing water samples according to current legislation
• knowledge of monitoring and identifying technical problems in drinking water facilities
• knowledge of microbiological, chemical, and physical parameters affecting water quality
• good knowledge of drinking water regulations, hygiene, and risk management
• good knowledge of safety, information security NIS
• knowledge of water and sewage law
• experience in reporting, permit processes, and handling deviations

As a person, you are meticulous and responsible. You are structured and solution-oriented with very good communication skills.

The city applies individual salary setting. Start date by agreement.
