Job Responsibilities

The Eastern Investigation Unit belongs to the Family Department of the Labor Market and Social Administration and is one of two investigation units. We are now looking for a case manager.

As a case manager, you primarily work with following up on interventions for children and youth aged 0-18 years. You work in a team consisting of several case managers and colleagues who work with child welfare investigations. The team has a case supervisor assigned. The interventions you handle include both outpatient interventions for children aged 0-18 years and foster home or HVB placements for children aged 13-18 years. Your work consists of having conversations with children and parents through physical meetings, phone, email, and SMS contact. As a case manager, you maintain close contact with our placed youth and their parents over time and work towards a positive development for the youth. During follow-ups of placements, you may need to make shorter or longer trips together with co-case managers. The work also requires a significant degree of collaboration with therapists, HVB staff, and other actors such as schools and child and adolescent psychiatry. You need to be flexible to make new plans and prioritize your tasks with support from the case supervisor and unit manager. You should be able to work independently in many of your tasks but always have access to colleagues for advice and support, as well as an active co-case manager when needed.

We offer you, as a newcomer, a mentor who helps you get into the work and the daily routines. The unit consists of three teams, each with its own case supervisor, whose main task is to guide and support you in your daily work. New employees receive thorough introductory and basic training.

Qualifications

A degree in social work is required.

Great importance is placed on personal suitability for the role. As a person, you need to have good communicative and written skills, be flexible, and enjoy challenges. Since the work can sometimes be mentally demanding, it is important that you have personal maturity, are secure in yourself, and can distinguish between the personal and the professional. You are required to be calm, stable, and controlled in stressful situations.

The Eastern Investigation Unit strives to be a developing and constantly improving organization, so it is important that you are open to change and enjoy thinking outside the box. Experience in social services, particularly in authority work with children aged 0-18 years, is an advantage. We place great emphasis on your personal suitability and your ability to contribute to a good working environment.

A B driver's license for manual transmission is required. We will request a criminal record extract from the person who gets the position.
