Tallgläntan is a special accommodation with various focuses within elderly care. There is accommodation for people with dementia, accommodation for older people with mental illness, as well as short-term accommodation. Users come to the short-term stay at Tallgläntan for, among other things, assessment, rehabilitation, respite, or palliative care. Currently, the short-term stay consists of 30 places. The short-term stay is an exciting workplace where all work is carried out in continuous collaboration with care staff, case managers, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, and nurses.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

The role of specialist nurse assistant primarily involves user-centered work in the organization with a central role in maintaining and developing quality. The needs of the organization determine how much time is allocated for this assignment, typically around 25 percent of your position.

You will be proactive in the organization's pedagogical work, possess good competence, a positive attitude, and ethical competence in meetings with both users and relatives. Your task, together with the unit manager and colleagues, will be to drive and create an organization that is attractive and a natural choice for users and employees. You should be able to guide your colleagues in pedagogical issues, the organization's methods, and have a mentoring role with:

• Response
• Documentation and implementation plans
• Care contact
• Planning and follow-up
• Specific care together with care staff
• Achievement of the organization's goals

These core competencies are linked to the role of specialist nurse assistant:

• Team collaboration - collaborate with other professionals in daily work and participate in team meetings.
• Quality development - participate in evaluations and provide improvement suggestions and actively contribute to facilitating the implementation of new working methods. Be proactive in improvement work and support specific care issues.
• Safe care and support - write deviations and follow applicable laws, including SoL and HSL. Participate in discussions on how we can reduce the risk of deviations being repeated and drive change work to minimize risks. Mentor colleagues in pedagogical issues and in establishing documentation and implementation plans and clarify what the role of a permanent care contact entails.
• Digital tools and communication - use and be able to mentor in the use of digital tools.

You will, together with other specialist nurse assistants, be part of a network held together by method developers in elderly care.

Planning of assignments takes place in collaboration between the specialist nurse assistant, the responsible unit manager, and method developers.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who is a trained nurse assistant and has further education as a specialist nurse assistant (200 yh) with a focus on psychiatry or dementia. You have at least one year of experience working in elderly care and have a strong interest in working for development within your specialist area.

You are attentive and engaged in a way that creates opportunities and conditions for the users you meet. You are responsible and a clear communicator. You should have a good ability to see the whole and the context while being able to consider individual needs. It is crucial that you have good collaboration skills.

Great importance will be placed on personal suitability.

As of July 1, 2023, nurse assistant is a protected professional title. This means that a certificate from the National Board of Health and Welfare will be required to use the title nurse assistant within care and support.
