Do you have many years of experience working with traffic planning in urban development projects? Are you interested in independently driving investigations regarding traffic issues at various levels? Then you might be the one we are looking for!

In the traffic planning and mobility/regulation unit, we are a group of engaged employees looking forward to welcoming two new colleagues who want to strengthen our team! We are part of the street traffic department in the Urban Planning Department, and our units are responsible for both short- and long-term planning regarding public spaces, traffic systems, traffic safety, and infrastructure. Our mission includes developing and implementing action plans in the area based on political decisions as well as following up and evaluating the work. We also handle some outreach activities towards citizens and businesses regarding our areas of responsibility. One of our most important missions is to influence the traffic system to achieve our ambitious climate goals.

Job Description

As a senior traffic planner, you will contribute traffic expertise to larger projects related to, among other things, the Southern City and the tramway. You will independently drive investigations regarding traffic issues at various levels, participate in the department's work with action plans and programs, monitor the external environment, and lead various projects. You will be responsible for traffic investigations and ensure that the municipality's visions and goals for sustainable mobility and urban development are met.

One position: work with traffic and mobility issues from a tramway perspective at both a strategic level and from a shorter planning perspective. Participation in other large urban development projects. In this position, you will be the responsible traffic planner in detailed plans for large new construction projects such as the Southern City.

Second position: work with traffic and mobility issues from a holistic perspective. One of the main tasks is to be responsible for the development of the traffic network over time to achieve good accessibility for all modes of transport. The tasks include implementing the upcoming traffic network plan.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone with a university degree in urban planning, for example as an urban planner, civil engineer in road and water, or another education that the employer deems relevant for the position. To succeed in this role, you need to have many years of experience working with traffic planning in urban development projects. You should have good knowledge of Microsoft 365 and good reading and writing skills in Swedish. The job requires you to have a B driver's license. We would also like you to have experience with large complex projects related to infrastructure. It is an advantage if you have experience working on tramway projects, knowledge of design and legislation related to trams, and/or experience with traffic issues in detailed plans for large urban development projects. If you have experience working with traffic issues in public administration or traffic and mobility planning and construction projects with a public employer, that is also considered an advantage. You can make decisions and act based on what you believe, even if others think differently. Furthermore, you have the ability to see the big picture and view issues from a broader perspective. The job suits you if you understand the professional aspects of the work particularly well and continuously maintain your specialist knowledge.
