We work for everyone living here today and in the future. Now we are looking for you who want to think big, new, and differently with us – for the people of Stockholm.

Welcome to us

We are looking for you, inspiring and structured special education teachers specializing in intellectual disabilities with high expectations for your students.

Fruängen School is a K-9 school in southern Stockholm, a short walk from Fruängen center with proximity to the subway and buses. We have about 600 students and approximately 100 staff.

Currently, 33 students attend Fruängen's adapted school. Our classes in adapted primary school can also participate in after-school activities at the school. The majority of students study subjects, but some also study subject areas.

Special education teachers teach at Fruängen's adapted primary school, and we also have teaching assistants who follow the students throughout the school day.

We offer

At Fruängen School, you will encounter a work culture characterized by commitment, lack of prestige, and high competence. In our adapted primary school, you work in smaller student groups together with a knowledgeable and supportive team of special education teachers and teaching assistants. As an employee with us, you will be offered wellness benefits that promote health and balance in everyday life.

Your role

As a special education teacher, you will collaborate with five other teachers, and you will develop the work both at the departmental level (pedagogically) and in the class you will be responsible for. We are looking for two special education teachers, one focusing on the lower grades and teaching subject areas. The other will focus on the upper grades and may teach both subjects and subject areas.

Your tasks will include

  • leading the work in class as a mentor for up to about 12 students
  • being responsible for the entire teaching process for the students and being well acquainted with documentation related to the work around students
  • planning, implementing, following up, and evaluating teaching individually and together with resource educators
  • supervising the teaching assistants
  • collaborating with after-school care and short-term supervision to enable a good learning process for the entire school day
  • systematically implementing the school's goals, plans, and decisions.

Your qualifications and experience

We are looking for someone who has

  • the education of a special education teacher with a focus on intellectual disabilities
  • several years of experience as a teacher in adapted primary school.

It is an advantage if you have

  • experience teaching both students in subjects and in subject areas.
  • experience with students with various disabilities (NPF)
  • training and/or experience in TAKK and other forms of clarifying pedagogy
  • experience in low-arousal approaches.

Other

We will conduct interviews during the advertisement period.

To be employed as a special education teacher, a criminal record extract must be presented.

We see diversity as enriching and welcome all applicants.

Welcome with your application!
