Financial Controller

At Avanzera, we are now looking for a full-time Financial Controller for a longer consulting assignment starting in December or early January.

Our client is a well-known hotel operator with operations throughout the Nordic region. Here, both the guest and the employee are in focus, and the finance function plays a central role in creating security, quality, and stability throughout the organization. Job Responsibilities

About the role: In this role, you will become part of a warm and driven controller team of eight people. It is a team that supports each other, shares the challenges of everyday life, and together with the rest of the organization keeps the finances together for a large number of hotels.

You will be responsible for 11–13 hotels that you will closely follow, both through regular dialogue and through planned visits out in the operations. You will be their main support in financial matters and an important partner to General Managers, department heads, and service functions. The work is varied and moves between operational support, qualified analysis, and development. Here you will both deepen your understanding of the numbers and at the same time be the reliable person who explains, educates, and guides the operations.

Your job responsibilities include:

  • Supporting the hotels with internal control, financial control, closing accounts, accounting issues, and reporting
  • Responsible for analysis, quality assurance, and execution of the hotel's monthly and annual closing accounts
  • Conducting internal audits and following up on procedures
  • Training the hotels in internal control, financial control, and closing accounts
  • Ongoing checks of accrued invoices and handling of new suppliers
  • Contributing to improvement work and development of processes and routines

You report to the Controller Manager.

Your Background

We believe that you have an academic degree in finance or a corresponding background and that you have good experience in accounting and financial flows. If you have also worked in hotels or F&B, that is a big plus. Most importantly, you thrive in a business-oriented role where you meet many people.

You are confident in Excel and used to navigating between many different systems. It is advantageous if you have experience with:

  • Microsoft Dynamics 365 FO – General Ledger
  • Opera Cloud
  • Symphony R&A
