Do you love food and are ready for a career where people are at the center? At City Gross, everything we do is about helping and inspiring our customers to a better everyday life. Our heart beats a little extra for fresh produce, and we believe in people. We believe we become better when we have different backgrounds and experiences. Whether you are presenting freshly harvested vegetables, cutting a perfect piece of meat, ensuring that the shelves are always well-stocked, or that we have campaigns that suit our customers' needs, everyone here is here for one reason: to create an amazing customer experience.

About the job

Position: Permanent full-time employment, probationary period applies.

Start date: 2026-01-05 or by agreement.

Working hours: Early mornings, daytime, late evenings, and weekends are a natural part of the job.

We welcome applicants of all ages, but due to the Work Environment Act, you must be at least 18 years old to work in our meat department.

You put the finishing touch on the customer experience

You have the chance to make a significant impact on our customers' visits, so you have an important mission to make the customer experience smooth and pleasant. This may involve a friendly smile, an unexpected question, or a helpful attitude, so that the customer finds their way in the store. You should ensure that the customer leaves satisfied - preferably with an extra item in their bag and a good feeling!

What will you do?

Every day brings new meetings and challenges, but some of your main tasks will be:

  • Ensure that daily operations run smoothly by leading and distributing work.
  • Be a role model in customer interactions and inspire colleagues so that our customers leave the store feeling like they had a world-class customer experience.
  • Together with the Sales Manager, be responsible for planning, placing orders, following up, and developing work in the department.
  • Work to coordinate resources and ensure that competence is used effectively to achieve set goals.
  • Work with cutting fresh Swedish meat, cut in-store.
  • Contribute to offering our customers a fresh and inviting meat and deli department.
  • Collaborate with colleagues throughout the store – we are a team and help where needed!

You report to the Sales Manager of Fresh Produce, who also has personnel responsibility for the department.

Who are you?

You are a natural problem solver who enjoys a fast-paced environment. A friendly hello and a desire to inspire and develop other people is a given for you. Do you have a great interest in really good meat and selling products? Great! Do you have previous leadership experience – even better!

We believe that you:

  • Have a high school education and master Swedish in speech and writing. Since our customers speak more languages than that, it’s fantastic if you do too.
  • Have a couple of years of previous experience in the field of meat/cutting.
  • If you have previous experience in leadership, store economics, and sales, it is a merit.
  • If you have previous training or journeyman/master's certificate in meat, it is a merit.
  • Love meeting customers and believe that service should be genuine and engaged.

What do you get?

  • Secure conditions – We have collective agreements with Handels and Unionen.
  • Affordable food packages – You get employee discounts on everything from luxurious weekend dinners to quick everyday lifesavers.
  • Parental leave with extra security - we offer enhanced parental benefits according to collective agreements so you can enjoy your new family member a little extra.
  • Healthier and more energetic body and mind – We care about your health and offer wellness benefits so you can stay active in the way that suits you best.
  • Real career opportunities – There are chances to grow with us! Many of our store managers started just where you are now.

Does this sound like something for you? Submit your application – we look forward to meeting you!
