About the position – An important temporary role
This is a fixed-term position where you must quickly take a key role in promoting an active and inclusive leisure environment in Övertorneå Municipality in close collaboration with the Head of Culture and Leisure. Your speed and ability to handle matters efficiently are central to maintaining operations during the temporary position.
Your main responsibilities include:
- Coordination and Collaboration: Initiate and lead meeting places, networks, and collaborative projects between associations, businesses, and municipal/regional operations.
- Advisory and Support: Act as a proactive advisor and contact person for associations on issues related to grants, organizational development, premises, and regulations.
- Support with planning, booking, and execution of cultural and leisure events.
- Administration: Create and manage service documents for the political arena.
- Information Dissemination: Communication regarding leisure and association issues on the municipality's websites and local newspapers.

We are looking for a driven, relationship-building, and structured person with an exceptional ability to quickly absorb information and become self-sufficient. You are used to taking your own initiatives, driving processes forward under time pressure, and see new challenges as opportunities to prove your quick learning ability.
We need someone who can jump in and deliver from day one.
Qualifications and experience we are looking for:
- High learning ability and quick adaptability: Given that this is a temporary position, we expect you to have a proven ability to quickly understand complex regulations and workflows. You are “quick on your feet” and handle new situations effectively.
- Relevant higher education in fields such as leisure, public health, social sciences, or experience deemed equivalent by the employer.
- You have strong communication skills. You are flexible and enjoy working days, evenings, and weekends as needed.
- You are proactive, self-sufficient, and energetic, and constantly strive to develop both yourself and the organization. You have the ability to plan both large and small events, and you are skilled at collaborating and supporting others.
- Experience working with or within the association/non-profit sector.
- Good IT skills
- Very good ability to express yourself verbally and in writing (Swedish).
- A valid driver's license (B) is required.
It is advantageous if you:
- Have experience in municipal operations.
- Have knowledge of digital communication tools and social media.
- Can speak or write Finnish or Meänkieli.
- Have good knowledge of event planning.

Employment conditions:
The position is full-time, temporary until 15.10.2026. Start as soon as possible.
Weekend and evening work may occur. A valid driver's license (B) is required.
