Workplace Description
Maltesholm School is located in Hässelby Strand, close to nature. Lake Mälaren and Grimsta Forest are just a stone's throw from the school. The school was built in 1958 and currently has about 470 students distributed across three preschool classes, 14 elementary school classes in grades 1-6, after-school activities for students in grades F-3, as well as middle school activities for students in grades 4-6 and an adapted primary school.

Job Description
We are looking for a teaching assistant with experience working with children who have intellectual disabilities. You will work closely with teachers and support students throughout their school day. Together with teachers, you will contribute to creating a positive, meaningful, and developmental environment for the student. You are engaged and actively participate in planning and evaluating the work. In daily contacts with guardians, you are engaged, student-focused, and service-oriented. The role includes supporting our students throughout their school day, both during school hours and after-school hours in the student's learning as well as in everyday care. We see that you want to develop our activities together with colleagues to create the best conditions for our students. Furthermore, you are expected to swim with the students, which means you should have general swimming skills. The position is a temporary contract with the possibility of extension.
Qualifications
- You have training as a teaching assistant or from the Child and Leisure Program or the Care Program.
- Experience working with children and youth with intellectual disabilities. This also involves some practical tasks such as toilet visits and similar.
- Experience and knowledge of a salutogenic approach and low-arousal responses.
- Good collaboration skills.
- Ability to be flexible and responsive to both students' needs and in relation to parents and colleagues is very important.
- Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability.
As a person, you are engaged, flexible, and responsible. Your student focus is clear, and you have a positive attitude towards your work. We see that you are interested in working with students' learning based on their conditions and needs. You collaborate with students, colleagues, and parents in a responsive and smooth manner, listening, communicating, and handling conflicts constructively. You are calm, stable, and have the ability to focus on the right things.
