Botkyrka Municipality is the sixth largest municipality in Stockholm County, consisting of the districts of Alby, Fittja, Hallunda, Norsborg, Tullinge, Tumba, Vårsta, and Grödinge. Botkyrka Municipality has approximately 95,000 residents and over 6,400 employees.
The Municipal Executive Office is responsible for governance, leadership, and coordination within the municipality. We contribute to making visions and political decisions a reality. We are about 275 employees with specialist knowledge in areas such as finance, procurement, HR, communication, development and administration, digitalization, law, place development, and safety and security issues.
The Position and Responsibilities
We are looking for a contract controller with a strong interest in sustainability who wants to strengthen Botkyrka Municipality's strategic work with contract monitoring.
In this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring that the municipality's purchases contribute to social, environmental, and economic sustainability. You will work alongside two other contract controllers and drive the work with contract compliance, monitoring, and analysis. You will follow up to ensure that suppliers deliver according to agreements, that invoicing is correct, and that operations adhere to the established contracts. You will also have a central role in developing and monitoring environmental and social sustainability requirements in the municipality's procurements.
Your main responsibilities:
- Ensure that sustainability requirements are set in procurements and monitored throughout the contract period.
- Analyze and follow up on contracts to ensure quality and compliance.
- Coordinate and develop the process for contract monitoring together with other contract controllers.
- Prepare and present analyses and results in various forums.
- Provide advice and support to the municipality's operations in the work with contract compliance.
You will collaborate closely with colleagues in procurement, e-commerce, environment, and sustainability, as well as with other parts of the municipality. Together, you will develop the work with contract monitoring and contribute to ensuring that the municipality's resources are used efficiently and in accordance with our sustainability goals.
We Offer You
You will become part of the Procurement Unit, a workplace with strong cohesion where we actively work to maintain and strengthen a good working environment. Here, every employee takes responsibility for contributing to an open and supportive climate, where we share knowledge, help each other, and together create solutions that drive the work forward. We have a culture where dialogue is a natural part of everyday life and where everyone cares about creating a safe and pleasant workplace with clear direction.
With us, you will have excellent opportunities to develop in your professional role. We offer continuous professional development through internal training, networks, and collaboration within the municipality. You have annual working hours and the possibility of partial remote work when the operations allow it. We want you to feel that you become part of a team that cares for each other, develops together, and contributes to a more sustainable Botkyrka.
Who You Are
You have a post-secondary degree as an environmental scientist, sustainability strategist, economist, or another relevant education for the role.
Other Requirements for the Position
- Experience in understanding and analyzing complex linguistic materials, both spoken and written.
- Experience in working carefully and quality-conscious with advanced issues and problem-solving.
- Experience in planning, organizing, and prioritizing work in a structured and efficient manner.
We consider it an advantage if you have:
- Experience working with environmental and sustainability issues.
- Experience in translating sustainability goals into practice through concrete requirements and monitoring in contracts.
- Experience working in a politically governed organization.
- Experience using various systems to generate and analyze financial data.
The work as a contract controller requires you to be structured and able to keep track of several parallel monitoring processes simultaneously. You need to be able to plan, prioritize, and create clear work processes to ensure that contracts are followed and that monitoring is conducted systematically. Since you work closely with colleagues, operations, and suppliers, it is important that you are collaborative and have an easy time building trusting relationships in your ongoing work.
To succeed in the role, you need to have analytical skills that allow you to interpret data, identify deviations, and draw relevant conclusions that support the development of the municipality's contract compliance. The work also requires you to be solution-oriented and able to take initiative when you see needs for improvement or ambiguities in processes. The role demands independence, attention to detail, and the ability to transform complex information into clear recommendations.
