About the Workplace

The Sports and Recreation Administration offers a wide range of activities through the city's many sports and wellness facilities. We are also responsible for grants and support to the association sector. Within the administration, the Department of Property and Urban Development leads the work from early urban planning to completed buildings, including maintenance and rental of premises and land. With a long-term perspective, we develop the city's sports facilities – sports halls, ice rinks, swimming pools, wellness facilities, playing fields, and sports areas – and strengthen the city's position as a leading sports city. As the city grows, our sports areas are further developed in close collaboration with other stakeholders.

About the Workplace

As the unit manager for the Property Unit, you are responsible for employees who are in charge of planning and implementing investment and reinvestment projects with varying content and complexity. The team works to manage, develop, and lease the administration's land and buildings. The unit is also responsible for the long-term maintenance of the administration's facilities.

In this role, you will lead, plan, and develop the unit's operations while managing financial and personnel issues. The unit manager is also the project owner for the unit's projects. In the project owner role, you ensure and quality assure the project managers' responsibilities for planning and implementing investment and reinvestment projects. You need to ensure that there is coverage and assignments in the short and long term.

Who Are You?

We expect the consultant to meet the following:

• University or college education in fields such as engineering, economics, or construction, or other education deemed equivalent by the employer.
• At least 3 years of experience as a manager with budget and personnel responsibility.
• Experience in investment operations and project management/project ownership, monitoring requirements against suppliers, and cost monitoring of projects.
• Experience in leading change work and cultural or value-based work.
• Experience in successfully exercising communicative and trust-based leadership.
• Good Swedish in speech and writing.

Preferred qualifications:

• Experience working in the city of Gothenburg.
