Ministry of Rural Affairs and Infrastructure, Unit for Fishing, Hunting and Reindeer Husbandry

Do you have experience working in a central administrative authority and/or a politically governed organization? Do you want to work with hunting and fishing policy issues, including EU coordination and hunting and wildlife management policy matters? The role involves working with both national and EU/international issues.

The unit is responsible for issues and matters concerning professional and recreational fishing, aquaculture, the fish processing industry, the EU's common fisheries policy, the maritime, fisheries, and aquaculture fund, as well as the management of fish resources. The responsibility also includes fish conservation and environmental issues related to fishing. The unit is also responsible for issues concerning hunting and wildlife management, reindeer husbandry, and state land above the cultivation boundary and in reindeer grazing mountains.

The unit is now looking for a staff member to work with fisheries policy issues, including EU coordination, as well as hunting and wildlife management policy issues. This involves working with both national and EU/international issues. The role includes preparing negotiation materials, processing cases, and producing documentation based on requests from political leadership. The work involves close collaboration with colleagues in the fishing, hunting, and wildlife management areas and cooperation with other units on broad issues related to these policy areas.

Your Background

You have a relevant academic education and experience from working in a central/regional administrative authority and/or a politically governed organization, as assessed by the employer.

Applicants should also have experience working with fisheries or hunting and wildlife management policy issues and EU-related matters, as well as good knowledge of EU institutions and working methods. You have a good ability to express yourself in Swedish and English, both orally and in writing.

It is an advantage if you have experience working within the Government Offices of Sweden. Additionally, knowledge of EU fisheries policy is also meritorious.

Other Information

This is a fixed-term employment for four months. Start date in January or as agreed. A security clearance will be conducted before a hiring decision is made.
