Resource Chef for Säter Municipality

The municipality's food unit has 30 employees. Every day, about 2,100 portions are produced in our 11 kitchens for preschools, schools, and elderly care. Our mission includes following the Swedish Food Agency's advice and guidelines for good food, and our goal is to prepare meals close to our guests – focusing on the environment, quality ingredients, and joy of cooking.

As a resource chef, you will work in various kitchens.

You who are applying for the position should possess good planning and prioritization skills and work in a structured manner. You are self-reliant and flexible, as well as having good collaboration skills. You are passionate about cooking.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Prepare meals and ensure that all our diners - children/students/elderly - are offered good and healthy meals.
• Prepare special diets as needed.
• Order food supplies and plan work based on the developed menu.
• Perform the self-monitoring points included in the kitchen.
• Actively work to reduce food waste at all stages of production.
• Work with all tasks in the kitchen.
• Some administration such as recipes in the food data system, invoice handling, and statistical follow-up.

Heavy lifting occurs during goods handling and food preparation.

A car and driver's license are required for this position.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Education - Hotel and restaurant program or equivalent competence deemed comparable by the employer.
• Proficient in the Swedish language in both spoken and written form.
• Good knowledge of self-monitoring.
• Class B driver's license and access to a personal vehicle.
• Basic IT skills are required to manage ordering systems, email, smartphones, and personnel systems.
