Within the care and support administration, we have full-time as the norm. This means that all permanent employees essentially have a full-time position. More information about what this means for the role will be provided during a potential interview. Personal assistants are exempt from the full-time norm.

We are looking for a nursing assistant for a one-year temporary position at Von Bahr's elderly home – a workplace where you make a real difference for people who need support in their daily lives. The facility is located in a quiet residential area about 2.5 km from Uppsala city center, close to green areas and Heidenstams square. There is space for 16 users who live in their own apartments. All users have or have had substance abuse issues, primarily alcohol.
We work from a salutogenic perspective where the work is done in close collaboration with the individual. You work in a motivating manner and create conditions for structure, participation, and self-determination based on each person's abilities, where the individual's needs are central and guide your work.

Job Description
As a nursing assistant, you will work with a variety of tasks. You play an important role in direct contact with our users, providing personal care and service interventions that make a difference in their daily lives. From a rehabilitative perspective, you help create conditions for our users to maintain their functions with great consideration for the users' individual needs.
You will work during the day and evening. Working hours are scheduled for weekdays and every other weekend.
Your work includes:
- assisting our users with personal care including oral hygiene
- maintaining a motivating and rehabilitative approach
- assisting palliative users at the end of life
- performing delegated tasks according to HSL, such as medication management and insulin administration
- documenting in Lifecare according to the Social Services Act
Qualifications
You are a trained nursing assistant with a protected professional title according to the requirements of the National Board of Health and Welfare. It is a requirement that you have experience performing health and medical care tasks delegated by health and medical care personnel. To succeed in this role, you also need to have good documentation and computer skills.
You have excellent knowledge of Swedish in both spoken and written form. You understand complex conversations about work-related issues and can read and understand longer texts such as routines and official letters. Furthermore, you have the ability to express opinions and explain work tasks both orally and in writing.
Experience working in elderly care is an advantage. Experience in treatment care, psychiatry, and/or substance abuse is also advantageous. If you have training in MI (motivational interviewing), that is also a plus.
As a person, you take initiative, drive activities, and work purposefully to achieve results. You find it easy to collaborate and relate to others in a responsive and flexible manner. You communicate clearly, listen actively, and handle conflicts constructively. You have the ability to understand others' perspectives without taking over their feelings. Your demeanor is calm, attentive, and accommodating, and you show interest, willingness, and ability to help others, as well as making an effort to find solutions.
