Your New Job

We are looking for a teacher with a broad musical background for teaching primarily trumpet and ensemble.

However, we would also like you to have a breadth in your skills so that you can also teach other brass instruments and preferably another secondary instrument, such as piano. Since the position currently includes teaching in our two big bands, we would like you to feel at home with African-American repertoire.

The position may then develop based on your personality and any additional skills you have. Why not introduce more brass into our rock and pop groups? Together with colleagues, you will also develop our school's teaching, where we have begun a journey towards more group instruction.

You see each student, and through your knowledge and pedagogical ability, you provide challenges that contribute to developing and preparing the student for what may become a strong interest, a hobby, or even a profession in the future.

Welcome to Us

Our culture school has about 55 creative employees who, with great commitment, work to give children and young people the opportunity to develop through teaching, experiences, and their own creativity in music, dance, visual arts, film, and theater. We also conduct outreach and open activities to reach even more children and young people.

We primarily teach within our core operations from early afternoon to evening, but we also work with so-called basic courses and cultural ladders, both of which mean that we offer entire school years various cultural activities. The culture school has its own facilities in both Jönköping and Huskvarna. Teaching also takes place in several of the municipality's primary schools.

Your Competence

We are looking for you who are a competent musician and who has a music pedagogical university degree or other education/experience that the employer deems equivalent.

You have experience teaching trumpet and/or other brass instruments for children and young people and can also accompany at a basic level. Secondary instruments are an advantage. You have good pedagogical skills and a clear desire to help children and young people develop through cultural practice. In your role, you start from the student's interest and inspire and adapt the teaching to each unique context. You are creative, responsible, flexible, and well-organized, you work independently and also find it easy to collaborate with others. You understand the importance of performing and expressing yourself professionally towards students, guardians, colleagues, and partners. You have good knowledge of digital tools, both pedagogical and administrative, and actively use them in your teaching. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.

We would also like you to have a B driver's license and access to your own car.
